It was like the archery the week before, a great long build up about how hard it is and then suddenly it appears everyone finishes easily. Or the finding of keys in the sand the week before that. For me there is a growing sense of being manipulated as a viewer and that is a weakness of the Australian version compared to the American one. We don't need made up cliffhangers each week.

Yeah, I've noticed that as well. But to be fair, this would be their first attempt and i don't know how much communication they would have with their American counterpart.

It's still very good and enjoyable to watch but. Just looks a bit fake.

Did anyone else think the last two goals in the hockey were somewhat faked?

Dave and Kelley (is she really only 37?)were both down on the ice and ready to take a four hour penalty. All of a sudden he's up like Hulk Hogan and we see a shot of Kelley's face while attempting to shoot, the perspective of the puck, and the puck sitting in the back of the net.

Sam's wasn't much different.

Maybe there was a time limit on the task and it looked better to fake a goal than to just hand over a clue.

Said the same thing, all we saw was a cut show with a puck going into the net (the camera man wasn't behind the goals from the other view (that I saw) so who knows who shot the puck).

Funny how both the last teams finished at the same time. One after another.. didn't like that. Loving the show otherwise.

Yeah you could maybe say it's a coincidence, but when the episode before the same thing happens with the archery, it sort of takes the credibility away a little.

Still a cracking series though.

I think the American version is equally guilty of this sin, but it usually depends on the nature of the battle for last.

Sure the American version offers cliffhangers but I never get the feeling that sections of the race are manipulated. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, I just don't see it.

No doubt the ice hockey goals were faked.
You could see everyone was having a hard time standing up let alone being co-ordinated enough to shoot a puck with significant force and accuracy to pass the goalie.

As Dave said they were out there for an hour trying to score and they weren't getting close. Producers made an executive decision to fake the goals and get the race started again, which I don't mind as there is only so many times you can show vision on people falling on their ass.

I never had any love for Dave.

Luke was the one driving me crazy this week. He sounded like a 14 year old trying to explain his science project. Other teams seemed to just stack their beer but they showed him going on and on in that monotone voice about how they did it just right.

The shorter model? Sam? She's smoking :(

Yeah Dave is a dick. I liked him at first as I thought he was joking, but he really is arrogant and snarky.

Each to their own....she has a fine body but a face like a shoe. Would be plain scary without make-up. She also has a weird mouth. Perhaps she could hook up with one of the farmers who also has a weird mouth. Serious chance they could try to kiss and miss each other's mouth completely.

As for Dave....reckon he'd be a prick in normal life but he's a good character for the show.

What was with Dave going ape at the farmers for taking a few slabs at a time? There wasn't a rule that you must take one slab at a time right? Why wouldn't you grab as many as you can, they were only small ones anyway.

Dave is funny to watch but going against him he would shit me up the wall. Models annoying thinking everyone is against them (seriously..), father and son are ok but not very exciting. Chris and whatshername (lol at pic posted on this thread) are annoying... so Farmers and Surfers are left. Would be happy with either winning.

Biology 101. Dave is the old lion, farmers are young lions. You know if Dave was young and strong again he'd be muscling in assertively as well. Being pushed (politely) out of the way by two stronger, younger males while in front of your wife peeled back the veneer of civilisation and left angry Dave.

Regarding the eating challenges. What I would like to see is for a Detour where they must either take on an eating challenge where they must eat a lot plesent type food to where they will almost explode but be able to finish pretty fast compared to the other detour challenge. Then the next challenge after the detour should be a road block where they must eat a reasonable amount of unsavoury food or one of those needle in a haystack challenges where if they choose the incorrect food then they must eat it.

That would mean that those who took the food detour which would have been quicker would have a harder time with the road block despite starting it first. I know that would be just evil, but it would make things very interesting.

Exactly. The whole task was clearly rigged and the fact there was no pitstop might have contributed.

She probably watched the show when she got back and realised what a douche Chris was.

The short one is pretty good. The other one is very ordinary.

Yeah Sam is definitely the pick of the two. She actually looks familiar for some reason, she's from Perth so maybe I've run into her somewhere here or just looks like someone else I know.

I'm late, but I enjoyed last week’s episode. As for the ice hockey task, clearly they were going to eventually allow them score a goal. There's no way the goalie wouldn’t have been able to stop one of their shots; they could’ve been there all day and still not scored if the goalie was being serious. And yes, the footage of the goals looked dodgy as. I’m guessing they had a set time they would make each team wait to score, say an hour, and after that they were going to let them score. It was just weird how we never actually saw them score, I’m guessing the goalies attempts were rather week. ;) I was expecting both team members to go in against the goalie, creating a 2-on-0, but then I realised that they would’ve been too unco to be able to make passes and then shoot.

Anyway I’m getting annoyed with the models lately, and Dave is funny, but a bit of a psycho.

Looking forward to tonight’s episode. :thumbsu:
