Can't see Daylesford dropping that far and what has changed at Bungaree to see them capable of making finals? They were deadset ordinary from what I saw last year.

Everyone seems to be writing Daylesford off thus far. Weren't they the only ones to beat Hepburn last year? Have they fallen that far? and if so what has made them loose so much ground?

I'm not sure what's changed at Bungaree,(they do expect to improve) but I know one thing has changed that's improved their final chances..It is now a Final 8.

We'd be doing ourselves a disservice if we weren't optimistic in what we can achieve in 2011. Most clubs in a similar position ie Newlyn, Clunes, Cargnham would be thinking that if things go right for them they can make the 8 as well. Time will tell i guess

As for Daylesford, only my personal opinion but i think age will finally catch them up and they'll start to slip.

I've got Daylesford at 3. Think they'll still be pushing late into mid September. Also, if cox and mackay are staying at the Burra's with some handy pick ups, probably have them just a smidge ahead of Waubra. Really think that interest levels in the league will be through the roof this year. The league will be sweating on the LPFL clubs... Hopefully they are competetive. Would be good if it could stay as an 18 team comp, as playing everyone once is as fair as your ever going to get in a draw. Ballan looked to have picked a few new recruits up? Anyone of any note?

Is that the same Dorward that played with Echuca,Albion,Altona and parkside.Hard at it midfielder that has won a stack of B&F s gun for hire if your got the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

You are on the money. Good player but don't expect him to be their next year,.. $$$$ talks. Is the modern day Ned Kelly.:(

Well if money talks, he'll play out the rest of his career at Hepburn...

Chance meeting? wonder if he had a chance meeting with any other club.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Some of us guys could get a job at the courier most of there storys brake here first, vintage could be the stats man.Bomber 1983 could be another w***er working at the courier and if i could spell i could write bull shit to

Dr evil you are like the Craig hucherson of Chfl if you keep up all this good work you might have to quit your day job and become full time at this caper. Who are your first round winners next week boys?

Not much between 6th to 11th i think

What did everyone think of the CHFL courier guide this week? I'm not normally a big wrap for what the courier produces, but I think they have got it pretty close to the money this year.

A couple of ordinary ladder predictions for me on this site, particularly after the top 4 or 5. Its a funny game footy, so anything can happen, but my thoughts on where we are going to end up come September is something like this...

1/2 - Waubra / Hepburn - Class above the rest. Close battle, depending on injuries and form
Waubra - Recruited strongly. got a better overall forward line than Hepburn with 4 avenues to goal, and couple of quality midfielders in picking up Gleeson and getting Mullane back. Pellissier the best CHB in the league and didn't play much last year through injury, back fit.
Hepburn - That far better than anyone else last year, Waubra have some ground to make up. Cox and McKay still the stand out players of the league. lost a couple, but can cover them with the 2nds players that are in most other sides best 15. New blokes appear to be as good if not better than those lost anyway, so expect them to be playing the granny again and a huge chance of lifting the cup.

3-6 is a tough call, but could be order most likely coming from Beaufort, Bunny, Dunstown or Daylesford, but personally, see all 4 of those sides going backwards from last year.

All have lost quality players!
Bun - Guest / Leskosesk.
Dayl - Sullivan / Savige
Duns - Cahirs
Beau - Crouch / Goonan struggling with injury??
Have all picked up a few, but I would suggest departures are better quality than what is coming in. Wouldn't suprise me if a few of the lesser clubs on the up take over the mantle for a couple of these spots, but based on history will leave these 4 in this

Havnig a look at last years results and pickups / departures (flying a bit blind here) - The final 8 I round out with any of Clunes / Gordon and Newlyn making up the 7-9 spots.

Clunes whilst struggled last year, have picked up a stack of players (quality yet to be seen) while Gordon and Newlyn don't look to have lost any and their results looked promising in sides above them. Both Gordon and Newlyn beat, Learmonth, Creswick and Bungaree and with zero departures, should be able to do the same again...

10-12 for me will be those three clubs in Bungaree / learmonth and Creswick. I don't see a lot of improvement in there... Learmonth talked up recruits early with their landmark man in Chris McGuigan who's moved north, and the others really only BFL 2nds players.

Creswick look to have gone back to there roots with some premiership junior kids going back there with the clean out the committee and coaches (and good on them for it), but as we all know, senior football is a different ball game.

Bungaree is hard to gauge, we here plenty about them every year, but I'm not hearing enough to warrant a rise up the ladder. They weren't much good last year.

And the remaining spots look to be filled with the new comers as well as Ballan and Springbank look to be sliding. Carngham could be the surprise packet with a bit of handy recruiting, and Joel Risk might kick a couple of bags to snatch a game or two for Skipton, but he also has a lot better quality opposition back man in this league that could keep him under wraps.
Only time will tell...

Good post, but think you are off target on Beaufort. Crouch didn't play many games and is only a kid anyway, and Ewart & Burchell are high quality footballers coming into the side. Ewart would be the best defender in the league.
Also I reckon Hepburn will be a better side than last year so look out. Don't believe Olvers rubbish in the paper about lack of numbers and 'chance' meetings with the likes of the mercanaries they've picked up. They pick their targets well and would probably have had the recruits on the radar since mid last year.

Illabarook, havent seen or heard anything at all about them on here or anywhere else but reading here tells me not to expect anything from them.

Ballan vs Waubra - Waubra, 63 points, far too strong for a young side
Bungaree vs Skipton - Skipton, 22 points, a 10 goal premiership side vs a side coming of 6 wins in a season
Bunninyong vs Springbank - Bunninyong, 39 points, very well recruited
Clunes vs Rokewood - Clunes, 14 points, a few handy inclusions will be to big and strong
Creswick vs Newlyn - Creswick, 29 points, at home
Dunnstown vs Beaufort - Beaufort, 15 points
Gordon vs Daylesford - Daylesford, 30 points, gordon are shit

Waubra 80 pts
Bungaree would have belted Lexton by 10 goals if in lexton plains last year 10 goal premiership side means nothing in CHFL. Close game I'd expect if Skipton get a towling it's going to be a long year. Skipton just.
Clunes 20 pts
Newlyn 40 pts
Flip a coin on Dunnstown v Beaufort. Heads it is Beaufort 12 points.
Daylesford 50 pts
Hepburn 75 pts
Carngham 50 pts

So after saying Bungaree would have belted 'lexton' by ten goals if in lexton plains last year you've gone ahead and tipped skipton.. contradicting yourself much??
