And maybe you were there soliciting. You should stick to stalking on the junior pages.

:pTypical of the MEN on this thread, no facts so just insult. 18s thread has good footy talk u could learn something from the kids.

the under 18 thread is substantially more mature than this crap. one week off big footy and it turns into a sledging match for the 'big guns' in the league to blow there own trumpets and tell everyone else how badly they can beat each other up. grow up guys

Hepburn were very good. Bungaree were very poor under the pressure that Hepburn was able to apply. Hepburn strenghs comes from its depth in the midfield and its ability to rotate players. The supply Cox gets is amazing so thats the 1st area that you would need to look at in shutting down if you are to beat hepburn. I think Dford are the masters of it.

Both sides play a similar style of run, carry and switch of play at all times...

Newton didnt play, either did Raak. With Chapman going down Ild expect both to play next week.

Looking forward to the challenge of going to the Spa centre and putting in a good result which we haven been able to do over there the past two times. In saying that I think we are a better side than the past couple of years. Will be good to say hi to all my friends over Hepburn as well, hopefully they might have a heater and blanket waiting for me and a warm cup of soup on entrance with my $8.
Now that you have had a look at Hepburn a lot closer i'd be interested to hear your thoughts if you would like to share them. and did Learmonth just have a bad day?

sorry sheen of queeba, i hate to dissapoint you but there was no involvement from the Hepburn players, just some patrons drinking there and a former local who came down and started some trouble... you may have to dig a little further to take the heat off whats happened at the southern end of spa country.

Have heard those dunnstown pricks are headed our way after the daylesford match this weekend....bring it on....just remember, boys, what happened in round 3, 2000
Who are you you idiot?

The incident in 2000 is was a blight on the game, the league, the club and everyone involved. It is still viewd by nuetral observers as a premeditited attack by a mob on a team that they couldn't beat on the field regardless of the story that was used to justify it.

To the mod cant we put in some steps to ban the blokes who keep putting up this crap about potential brawls and violence.

i am one who would like to make an apology... i got sucked into responding to this shane bloke and i shouldn't have.( my mistake was that i tried to defend my club) it is quiet obvious that he isn't a Hepburn person and is only trying to cause trouble, and i suggest everybody else just ignore his comments. He has nothing positive to say, and his thoughts DEFINETLY DO NOT represent that of the HFNC.
If everone just ignores his comments, hopefully he just might fall by the wayside, otherwise if we keep replying he just might destroy this forum.
There are a lot of positives in the CHFL and we dont need to always concentrate on the negative aspect.
eg. The top five teams, there isn't much between them... the premiership race is wide open
Now that Dunnstown have a sniff, can they topple Daylesford this week and sneak a little closer to the 5.
How will Learmonth respond in the next two hard weeks ahead after their first loss
Coxy on his way two his second ton in a row
Bryce Nicholson, did he retire or not??? Matho were you on the ball or not, did you prematurley retire a CHFL champion?
... i suggest we all ignore this little bug in the system and move on, i know i wont be replying to any more of his stupid comments

I can only delete posts, but i have contacted another mod to sort out some cards for a few users (Unfortunately hasn't responded yet)
From now on guys, seriously, there shall be NO "fight talk" whatsoever.
Any other discussion other than football talk will be deleted and messages sent. I allow the odd joke here and there, but this is thread is to discuss the Central Highlands Football League. Not "The Main Bout At Thingo's house in Hepburn".
Right now we have out the way, how about we start talking about footy again and about the league etc.:thumbsu:

To timmy, i got told personally that Bryce had announced his retirement straight after the Hepburn game. Yet, i walk into the rooms on Sat and see him in Footy gear pumping up the lads? I got shafted and apologies for giving false info, but my source has been at Bungaree for over 25 years . Or maybe Bryce felt he could just play the last few games? Not to sure

Hepburn were very good Timmy, Full credit to Robbo and his coaching staff, and more importantly to their players. They have smashed us 3 times in a row at Hepburn and for Learmonth to be a well respected and serious threat, we cant afford to lose the way we did. Hepburn were excellant in skills, hardness at the ball and area very even side. Easily the best side we have played, but I still think on any given day on neutral grounds any of the top 6 would be confident of beating each other.

We need to bounce back this week and have 2 very tough games which I want to see if we are real contenders. As they say when a dog has a cat up against a brick wall the only way to get out id HISS, CLAW & Scratch and thats what we will be doing this week..

If you offered me 11-1 at the start of the year I would have taken it. If you offer me 11-2 after this weeks games, no I wouldnt exceprt it. We need to be 12-1 to give ourselves a chance of top 3.

Very interesting week... Will say alot come Sat afternoon.

It lasted a minute did it? Considering the fight was still in progress when the cops got there, the police response in Daylesford must be the best in the world!

Good to see that Daylesford still blame Hepburn for everything that goes wrong. Maybe it happened because two of the blokes involved used to play for Hepburn?

Maybe a couple of the players won't be back come finals time. Maybe Daylesford should have acted the last time stuff like this happened.

If most of the clubs in the chfl are weak as piss why dont you #### off back to Cargnham you feral. I'm sure they have a bit of a punch on out there every week. Pity you weren't so tough on the field you ####wit.

How long does it take to make a phone call? How far away is the Police station from the Royal Hotel? I'm guessin the police response would have been pretty good. Probably a lot better than if an incident were to happen in hepburn between a few hepburn footy players which has probably happened in the past no doubt. Do you think that the incident wouldn't have occurred if daylesford acted last time it happened? I think it still would have don't u? And as long as footy players continue to drink alcohol (which will be forever) there will always be a barny here and there in the future at any club!

Maybe I was being a bit harsh on chfl clubs, but anyone thats played in the lpfl knows that the footy is a bit more bash and crash, probably due to all the older blokes that play out there.
I don't want to #### off back to c-linton at the moment cos i'm enjoying my footy with the doggies....simple! Gees mate your bringing out the primary school calls I haven't heard calls such as ####wit and feral for a long time well done the classics never die!

C-linton probably do have a few punch ons every now and then but it doesn't change the fact that they've won 3 flags in 5 years now does it, it doesn't seem to worry them in the flag winning department.
see you on the footy field budz.....

I've never played in the lpfl but I have seen plenty of it. Cargnham are a genuinely hard tough and intimidating club, no doubt it's a quality that has helped them win those flags and I respect them. Illabarook are hard at it from what i've seen but after that I wouldn't say the footy is any more crash and bash than any other league. I should say that I haven't seen Rokewood play this year - given that they are on top they must be hard enough.

Going on how sore i am on a Sunday after playing against them, I'd say that the physically hardest sides in the chfl are Hepburn, Waubra, Dunnstown, Bungaree, Ballan and Clunes. I always know I've been in a contest against those clubs regardless of the scoreboard. Interested to hear the opinions of others.
But you're the one who's played in both leagues so I have to take your opinion on board.

As for the rest of your post, I can't fault it. You make a lot of good points and I have to concede you've well and truly smacked my bum on this one.
Not sure how I came up with ****wit, it just came out.

Learmonth, i have been informed that the article in the Burra web site and in the local newspaper wrongly suggested that you watched the last quarter from behind the glass windows of the social rooms to escape the cold weather. Clearly the scribe that wrote it was ill informed and apoligises for the questions that you have had to answer from people who thought this was the case. Next time the facts will be checked before going to print.

I hope your not serious that this actually happened, as if A.j would go and sit anywhere the feral hepburn supporters in fact i doubt there would of been 1 learmonth person behind those glass windows and ill go as far to say that there hasnt been ONE opposition supporter behind those windows due to the VERY foul language and VERY un-called for insults which come from burra supporters coming from that side of the ground.

Last year when i went to hepburn i learnt 9 new insults and swear word combinations
This year it was 12.
Great place to take your kids to watch football.

Just another case of Hepburn taking a cheap shot. Weird one. I hope an apology appears in the local rag next week for the locals and supporters who believe everything they read.

If its gone to print isnt it called slander? What a joke that local paper must be.
However i was wondering if any ressies players from daylesford were reported for "umpire abuse", if players are suspended from a club for a late night brawl, which occured off the footy field then surely abuse to the extent which must of occured, re club president resigning warants some kind of attention? If no one was reported, is it any wonder that this type of thing occurs, and whats the point of someone making statements about it in resigning whilst failing to follow the proper channels in place designed to discourage this kind of behavior???
Just some food for thought....i dont anticipate any answers.

Howdy Guys,

Havent been on this site for a while. Can someone tell me where the CHFL forum has gone? I click on the CHFL name but it keeps taking me to this forum, which appears to be a Hepburn/Daylesford forum. Can anyone help me out?

Noones stopping you starting some new conversation mate. Pretty sure most clubs get a fair going over in this thread, at the moment its fair to say a lot of stuff is happening out in the spa country, give us some insight into your neck of the woods:thumbsu:

Id like to know:

- what everyones top 5 predictions are from here on in.
- Are Hepburn the real deal?
- Will Learmonth go out in straight sets?
- Can Daylesford and Waubra get there again?
- Are Buninyong just making up the numbers?
- Can Dunnstown make the finals etc.

I'd like to know the happenings of the things that matter in this leaugue!

- bunga, hepburn, buninyong, gordon, creswick
- Hepburn are good but can be beaten
- yes they have a hard run home
- no i don't think so
- no i don't think so they just need to work hard for the whole game and not just three quarters.
-no no chance

- Top 5 should remain unchanged, the only team that may sneak in is Dunnstown, although it would be a tough ask.
- Hepburn are a solid side and play extremely well at home, but finals are played on the larger grounds and not in their sardine can... now b4 the Hepburn faithful jump upon their high horses, im not saying the Burra will struggle on a larger oval, i am giving them credit for playing their home ground very well.
- Learmonth are still a big query and will be tested in the coming weeks with Bunninyong, Waubra and Dunnstown. The are nicknamed the June premiers by some and the next three weeks will prove if they are genuine finals contenders.
- Dismissing Waubra and Daylesford would be silly. Hepburn appear to be the yardstick and have dropped only one game for the year being to Daylesford. Waubra were 20 odd points up on Hepburn but fell away late in the game. Both sides have players returning from injury at the right time of the year, i wouldnt be leaving either out of my multiples.
- Bunninyong have proven their worth throughout the year and from all reports are peaking at the right time. They've lost a couple of extremely close games against Hepburn and Waubra and if they work on their discipline, they could take it out.
- Extremely tough run to the finals, but can make it if they're good enough. Could upset some of the top 5's top 3 aspirations.

Advocate is a joke, worst paper in Australia. As for the umpire abuse case. Knowing the reservs boys pretty well, there was no way known anyone would have been reported cause there was no abuse, just a lot of back chatting, which when i checked last was not reportable. If anything the umpire should have been given some kind of reprimand due to the threats made against one of the players during the game. Always more to every story if you dig a little deeper Dr Who.

Yea thats what i figured. The ex president made a bold move in adding this as even a partial reason for his resigning when no reports were made, or else this was simply highlighted by the media?

Was having a look at the team line ups a few weeks ago, and noticed the name M. Thomas in the 2s for D'ford. Is that Michael Thomas? The one that played for Hepburn a few years back? If so how does he go?

Has anyone heard the result of the two reports from the Buninyong and Learmonth game. Has it been to the tribunal yet or were they offered set penalties?
