Shep faced the tribuneral and was given a one week suspension. Was very unlucky to be reported, let alone suspended, very harsh. he was up for tripping with a hand in the dying minutes of the game . i cant recall the last person this has happened to in recent years, yet that type of trip it happens very regulary. But thats the way it goes and he'll miss the big clash this Saturday.
Also heard that there was a behind the play incident during the Learmonth v Dunnstown match resulting in a report, does anyone know what happened and if there was a suspension?

Phillips was the person reported, all I know is that he pleaded non-guilty. Bit hard to do that when your a 100m from the ball when the incident occurs. In the AFL, it would go something like this-
Not in play 95 points
Reckless or Intentional- 75/95 points
High impact- 95 points

He should get 3-4 weeks. Am an advocate of hard footy, but what happened in that instance isnt warrented....

Are Learmonth going to take this matter further? My sources have told me it was a pretty low act on a young kid well off the ball.

I don't think it was Phillips it was Trevor Johnson. I don't know exactly what happened in the incident but do know he was found guilty at the Tribunal. Not sure of how many weeks he got.

What do you mean take it further? He got reported so the tribunal will have dealt with it by now so unless you are talking about criminal charges thats about as far as they can take it isn't it? I take your point, but I wouldn't say Powell is a young kid either.

I see deano chester from the Roosters has put in a clearence back to portland, it was rumoured he and rob gregg were paid $1000 sign on fee's. Greggs clearence from the Sth Warnambool was rejected. Money Well Spent!

Tips for Round 4.

Buninyong vs Newlyn - 10 goal win at home.
Hepburn vs Daylesford - Home advantage. 15 pts
Creswick vs Clunes - Home advantage. 21 pts
Dunnstown vs Beaufort - 60+ pts
Waubra vs Ballan - Waubra by about 7 - 10 goals
Bungaree vs Gordon - Midfield too strong for Gordon. 60+ pts
Learmonth vs Springbank - Learmonth by about 10 goals. Springbank have pulled in some handy uni players in late.

all the home teams this week.

Hepburn + Daylesford will definately be match of the round.

Learmonth vs Springbank could be closer depending on the weather and conditions of learmonths ground. if it turns into a mud pit, then give springbanks youth a chance to cause an upset.

Have you guys been surprised by any teams so far this year?? how dominate Buninyong have been? Dunnstown's slow start?
which players have had fantastic starts and will be up there for league B&F?
Went and watched my nephew play for Bunga against Gordon yesterday.Good game, until Gordon got within 2 points with 10mins left and the umpires spoiled what had been a good game with some bewildering frees. Both sides have some good young players but Reid,Nicholson and Carmodys experience got Bunga over the line.

Wow Bungaree must be pretty bad if they let Gordon get that close to them, because as we all know Gordon is a hopless football club. The main criteria to get a game in the Gordon seniors is if you can kick a ball you are in, if you can also handball you are the captain.

Fair go mate. Sure, they're struggling, but to call them hopeless is a bit rough. The team is full of youngsters who actually have a decent crack. The fact that they get a team out there every week after winning probably a handful of games in a couple of years, you've got to give them a bit of credit.

I do give them a lot of credit for getting a team on the field week after week given the level of football they have been involved in for many years, mainly due to financial and administrative problems.

The game was very scrappy, similar to last year, Gordon pushed numbers back behind play, and there were some very questionable frees payed to Gordon when the game was in the balance. Bungaree lost young mid Nick Abbott in the first 2 minutes of the match to a possible torn ACL, which would be disastrous for the youngster who is coming off a full knee reco last year aswell. Gordon had a few good players, but it was silly mistakes and inexperience by a fair few Bunga players, that allowed Gordon to be so close.
Joe Carmody + Chris Morley were again superb for the demons.

That does sound like what Gordon's game plan from last seaon by pushing numbers back.
It definitly has been a massive change for Bungaree due to a mass turn over of players, but from what I have heard this season they are playing quite well considered.

Yeah, Bungaree should be close to making the final 5, with the draw they have... i think they will be a side that just gets across the line each week rather than winning comprehensively. They have a few injuries as well, with Mick Steenhuis, Scott Quinney, Sam Buchanan, Jon Barnett, Andy Steenhuis all to return and hopefully Nick Abbott will only be a few weeks away rather than 12 months first thought.

Bunga no hope. Final five already settled, only thing that will change will be the positions.

Hepburn wasted plenty of oppurtunities early, and Dford won it in the 3rd quarter with 7 goals to none i believe, the Burras missed the presence of big Shep steaming out from the square

Pride in the jumper and not in the pay packet is what won the game.

Here is a fact from the game:

Dford: 3 out of town recruits. 19 locals
Hburn: 15 out of town recruits. 7 locals

The game was tight all first half, but it shows the passion for the jumper you wear outweighs any dollar value, and thats what got Dford over the line.

Go dogs !!! :thumbsu:

You seem to be a very knowledgeable man Mr. Doggie!
While your on facts from the game, could you tell me the free kick tally from the match winning third quarter ?? And maybe how many of those free kicks resulted in goals ?? Went to view the game on the weekend and not using excuses in Hepburns defence as Daylesford did play a very physical game and put pressure on Hepburn at most opportunities, Cronin dominated the forward line and Hepburn also squandered alot of goals in the final quarter, but would be interested in this fact if you have it as imo it turned the game.
