Not too sure, I spent most of the night thinking about Lalbert's new gameplan after watching them train earlier. Very reminiscent of the 2013-15 Hawks, Macleod wants them to chip around and keep possession. Very interesting if you ask me, considering the run and gun nature of today’s game.
this has been Lalbert’s game plan the last few years and has been stale and unsuccessful….surely McLeod will change things up otherwise they will get cut to pieces by the the sides deploying quick ball movement

McLeod isn't a player who likes quick ball movement. he doesn't run, and work in open space. he is a fend off in tight player. i dont think Lalberts game plan will change from the previous 3-5 years

Surely a coach won’t base his game plan around how it works for “his” personal game!!? It will be more of the same for lalbert unless they change to how the successful sides play

Yeah not too sure, you'd have to ask someone within lalbert. you are right though, can't do the same stuff and expect a different outcome

It's January guys, pretty sure mcloud hasn't coached prior to this year either. The amount of dribble talking about chaos footy slow ball movement, anyone would think the tactics of our great game is harder to understand than the constitution.

A game of footy is much like a sausage, you can boil, BBQ, curry, deep fry, cook in the oven, but at the end of the day it's still a sausage, chaos footy, slow ball movement, kicking for keepings off, it's still a game of footy, that starts with a contest after every goal

His been assistant coach at ocean grove and senior coach at Apollo bay.

who makes up your bottom 3 this year? I think Koondrook, Boga and Toolybuc will struggle.

I think Boga will lack depth after losing a lot of their Seniors/Reserves list over the summer. Will be interesting to see what Helmers can do with the list, he knows the game very well.

Koondrook have recruited okay I'd expect them to be competitive, boga have lost too many, even though they've picked up 3 good players. Tooleybuc had plenty of players with great footy resumes last year, yet were uncompetitive, how many will they lose and how many do they pick up

Another big week of training coming up. Expecting all teams to be really cranking it up now. This week I will be killing 2 birds with one stone with Tyntynder and Swan Hill on Monday night and following that will be the Mallee eagles on Wednesday. Do we know if any teams are training Friday nights?

Koondrook would need to recruit half a team to be competitive. They were terrible last year

Granger, it will be interesting to see how O'rouke wants dogs to play. In recent years, they have tried to play the run and gun style but the presence of Eagle (and now Magro) has led to a level of predictability when they go forward which proved easy to defend for teams. I wonder if he has a different game style in mind.

A better run of injuries will certainly help the cause for the dogs. They would be hoping to get a solid 8-10 games out of the elder statesmen of Ellis, Odwyer, storer to notch a few more wins.

They'd need eagle and magro to kick 150 combined to play finals
Yep you may be correct Trent. Had a look at them tonight and they seem very young and inexperienced, lacking some serious class to take them to the next level. Building blocks over the next couple of years for the dogs. As for the swans hard to get a good read on them may have to head back on Wednesday. Seems to be a real focus on moving quickly and also fundamental skills. New coach looks like he can play a bit too.
Cheers, THEGRANGER

Love your work THEGRANGER

Has tyntynder lost what they stand for or used to be able to do, they used to be able to entice the best juniors from minor leagues to come in and play, marcus nalder, the otooles, Joel Cullen, delmenico, brock andrrson, as well as recruit a wes Lewis, Tyrone Jones to make them stronger

Woorinen were leading the way with this in recent years with the inclusions of Cadd, Skinner, Corey Kelly later on Booth and Isma and probably what helped them score back to back cups.

Woorinen have done well recruiting from within the league. Domaille has been great for them and even guys like O’Niell and Stone started at other CM clubs.
