It's 2020, we can do Avengers End game so surely we can put a crowd in and make them react to the game realistically as it unfolds.

The American Wrestling Association did this back in 1990. You couldn't tell at all that the audience wasn't really there.

Maybe the AFL can finally allow pet members to attend. After all dogs can't transmit COVID-19 to humans so there is no danger.

20,000 good boys > 100,000 empty seats.
You can only invite your team mascots in.

Bulldogs get 20000 dogs
Geelong get 20000 cats
Essendon get 20000 mosquitos

Melbourne fans, get those ouija boards out...

We've only got one eagle currently. She's a ripper, but I'm not sure wedge-tails get on too well with some of the other mascots. Eagles vs Kangaroos/Cats could be a disaster.

What about using a heap of dummies for the crowd.

The AFL could just leave them in the stadiums until crowds are allowed back and there would no need for security and behavioral awareness officers

The AFL are trying so desperately to even make money during an outright pandemic, not drop upwards of a million $ per game on CGI... But it would be funny if in the future we could insert "more atmosphere" for terrible games and low attendance games via filling it to capacity and having no home ground advantage built into the crowd mix.

With the away team cheering as loudly for goals even if they are behind. It would at least make losing games more tolerable on TV.

Better yet, bring in chimpanzee spectators, they'd probably be better behaved than most Richmond supporters.

That'll be tough for GWS with the amount of NBA players testing positive.

We've been using a heap of dummies for the crowd for years.
