Were you old enough to remember Adam Simpson starting out his career??

Id say with taking in the sub rule into consideration Mckenzie is tracking marginally better than Simmo tbh.
Hard to believe and many will probably disagree but thats my opinion. The lad need full games similar to what Cunnington and Bastinac was afforded, but our levels of expectancy has risen since those two started out.
4 Disposals on a wing in a full game of footy is not tracking well. What makes it worse is that the Brisbane wingers absolutely destroyed us.

If giving him more full games is going to result in similar outputs, then no thanks.

We are not in a blooding phase and players should be playing on the basis that that can contribute to a winning side.

Blooding McKenzie is costing us big time, because he can't get the ball and he has absolutely no defensive side to his game. He plods along with no urgency and it is hurting us. Why do you think Brisbane were able to chip the ball around so much? Simple, because McKenzie can't go with an opponent and they create the free option. It only takes one slow or lazy player and the team defence breaks down.

Give me a Max Warren 1 disposal game where he kept Mayes in check any day of the week.

It wasn't just Mckenzie's fault, but yes he was part of the problem. Basti, Cunners, Adams and Ziebell were all trailing their opponents on a number of occasions. Ziebell and Cunnington both struggle defensively when we turn the footy over across half forward.

I think you should watch the game again and watch Warren he wasn't just opposed to Mayes all night, he also spent time on Green and Zorko both of which destroyed him comprehensively.

Out Brown
In Wood

Out Mckenzie
In Hansen

Brown out might leave us light on in the ruck but I reckon Goldy can handle it. The forward line will be smallish when Drew has to ruck but we will just have to be smart when going forward.

Our backline was exposed last week with Firrito needing to play tall. We desperately need Hansen or Grima back.

Against melbourne I thought Ziebell was brilliant across half back in the first quarter. He used his kicking like a weapon. For all the talk of him playing forward I recon across half back has been where he's looked the most dangerous. I'd love to see more of him there.

Thompson - Roughead
Firrito - Gunston
Hansen - Hale
Atley/McDonald - Breust
I really wish you hadn't posted that. Excuse me while I go put money on the hawks to win by 10 goals

Breust and Gunston are going to have field days and Hale will bounce up for 2 goals on the lead.

On current form, all four hawks players will win their match ups comfortably. Thank god Bruce's boyfriend isn't playing

I think Daw would have been an in for this week - not so sure now given the attention that would recieve but think he would have had Hawthorn a lot more worried than Ben Brown. I don't think we can afford to play Brown this week either against a side like the Hawks. A lot of people will disagree with this but I think Anthony needs to come in this week as he wins a lot of the football even with his deficiencys is a better option that a low possession and poor defensive game from Brown/Mullet/McKenzie etc. At least our side would have the ball.

Won't happen but this is the side I'd love to see this week;

Firrito Thompson Warren (lock down on Breust)
Dal Santo Hansen Atley
Bastinac* Greenwood Anthony
Harvey Black Wood
Thomas Petrie Ziebell
Foll: Goldy Swallow Cunners
Inter: Jacobs Gibson* Adams (sub)

Off of the top of my head missing from last week is Brown Mullet (pathetic defensively) McDonald (needs a rest and if we are honest output well down over several weeks) McKenzie (did he even play Brisbane?)

Gibson** (starts on the bench for his poor job on Hanley) - Anthony Gibson and Bastinac (**who is on a final chance) to rotate through the wings and give mids a chop out - need to get hands on the ball a lot for us to be any chance - forward line of harvey - petrie - thomas - ziebell - black and wood will trouble any side if the ball is coming in enough - Warren to lock down on Breust .. if everyone plays to ability and not to form we are a chance. Swallow Cunners Greenwood need to make sure that ball is won in the stoppages & centre if Hawthorn exit stoppages cleanly they will slice us up however if we win contested ball and deliver we will win the match.

Your team is a player short.

Hah! That's what happens when you follow SANFL and country football and pick a 21! I'd leave Adams in and put McKenzie to sub - both lucky there isn't real pressure on spots at the moment! Patch really needs a big game and some confidence - last chance at this level before a spell I think!

There's only three on the bench in the SANFL?
