It’s certainly going to be interesting after the bye when we have Sloane, Betts, B.Crouch, Kelly, Hartigan all back in. Potentially Gibson too if he’s considered required.
Brown Hartigan Doedee
Laird Talia Milera
Seedsman Gibbs Sloane
Lynch Walker Galluci
Betts Jenkins McGovern
Jacobs M.Crouch B.Crouch
Douglas Kelly Atkins Greenwood
After last night then..
Out: Poholke, Mackay, Otten, CEY, Knight
In: Sloane, Betts, Hartigan, Kelly, B.Crouch
Then what if Smith is ready late. In for Atkins? Or Atkins to HF and Galluci out.
I actually don't disagree with anything you've said here.
But you still haven't answered the original question. How do we get Eddie back in the side next week?
What have you heard and who from?Wouldn’t be holding my breath on Brouch any time soon may not even get on the park this year by the sounds of it.
Bombed it to our player outnumbered two on one- if he found the option on the wing we were going to move the ball quickly from defence to attack. It was a face plant moment!

Knights the interesting one as well, I love a lot of what he does, but for all the running he does, he needs to get more of the footy. He’s a good user and reliable in front of goal. If he wants to cement his spot in a top 4 side, he needs to be pushing 20 touches and a goal a game. If he continues with his 13-17 touches and just over a goal every 2 games, he’s at risk of going the same way of Petrenko and Wright.
I actually thought he had a good game until I watched the replay, he got the ball well but stuffed up nearly every possession.Saw that. Unbelievable how dumb of a footballer he is sometimes.
Dammit... there are emojies for that thing!Humour Jen, humour.
If we really want Fog to develop we have to get him out of our SANFL decimated with injuries.Fogarty can't replace Tex. FFS, leave the kid to develop.

The good news for Knight is he can run-with as well though. But you're right, he does need to start winning more footy. I'm not too worried, he is in the same camp as Tex, no preseason and still getting the tank back. Give him a month and reassess IMOI was sitting right behind it and the option wasn’t a bad one, it was the execution. If he goes wide, there was no one next in the chain, the outside guy would likely have been corralled and the inside guy is now covered. He hits the inside guy, all 3 players are drawn in, leaving the outside guy to keep running and be the next link in the chain and 50+ meters in the clear.
Trouble is Mackay was a second or 2 too slow to pull the trigger and he lacks the stab pass required to make the kick. His kick was too lofted, giving GC players time to make the contest.
All in all, with the form of Seedsman, Atkins and Milera, Mackay is on borrowed time, although with our current injury run, he’s got plenty to spare.

Most teams have been getting toweled up after the Perth trip though right? Carpark stadium wreaks havoc on the legs apparentlyDramatically different preparations for us and Port ahead of the Showdown; we play Carlton at home while Port travels to Perth to take on the Eagles on the concrete deck at Optus.
(Mid-year we cop Freo in Perth before backing up against the Hawks at the MCG)

He was lost on Friday night and will be going nowhere fast if he stays there.
Besides, who else is going to replace Tex? Perhaps Himmelberg?
Pretty sure he played in the middle in the first half and stank.Just play him in the middle. Nothing to be developed standing ahead of that group at the moment. Playing midfield gets his fitness up and keeps him involved. It doesn't matter if he only gets it 10 times. As long as he works and has a dip
I think its slightly more complex then that. The whole idea of having a SANFL side is so our position groups plays the same game plan as the AFL equivalents, so we can do next man up and not have to force people out of position. Throwing a kid like FOG into the SANFL midfield with sub par fitness and no clue of the midfield structures doesn't gain anything for him or the AFL team besides some cheap kicks and a bit more running.Just play him in the middle. Its hard to be patient with a kid like FOG because he has so many unique traits that we are all desperate to too see week in week out at AFL level. But we have to keep in mind he's an 18 year old kid coming off a knee surgery and subsequently probably has bottom 10% fitness for AFL footy right now.
Yeah but you’re talking about 2 utility players with 2 preseasons under their belt who have trained with Both forwards and midfield groups vs 1 rookie whose built like a KPF and coming off an injury and only trained with the forwards group. It’s apples and oranges mateSure, but right now our SANFL team is nothing like a replica of our AFL structures. Until we get more players back we should get whatever morsels we can out of it. Extra Fog fitness is a worthwhile morsel. Did Gooch and Poholke play the same role in the 2's as they did the last 2 weeks?
