With Ling and Ablett now confirmed outs for the bulldogs game (according to Ch10) what are the likely ins-

Out- Ling, Ablett
In- Kelly, Prismall

Is it as simple as that? Fair replacements.

its absolutely amazing we can lose Ablett and Ling and replace them with Kelly and Prismall. We can never replace Gaz or Lingy, but it could be worst.

Jeez this week is going to be a real test. We lose the best attacking midfielder and the best defensive midfielder in the league against a team like the doggies, not good. Hopefully Ablett is just a roll and will be alright in a few days, because other than Shannon we don't have a ready made walk in as a quick attacking type. I would love to see Djk or Dav debut but how their game converts to the top level is quite unknown and this is such a massive game.

Hawkins looks about ready for another crack, would be cool for us to go top heavy up front with Moons, Longers & Hawk - 3 talls which hardly ever happens for us. Don't think the dogs could match up that and throw in Ottens who probably had his best time:score ratio playing as a forward today - was good to see him have that impact.

DO you guys think Taylor will stay in? Bulldogs dont have a particularly tall forward line. On the other hand, they are a very heavy attacking side and would be nice to have that spare defender down back.

I thought Harry did ok, and while htere isnt a true match up he is quick enough to be able to do ok anyway.

Enright can tag as well, probably not what youd want given how valuable he has been off half back.

How's David J's form been?

How did Gamble go in the VFL yesterday? I only saw the last quarter and a bit, and he seemed to present well.

He could be another option, and place him in the pocket, with Stokes and Chapman alternating between the half forward line and on the ball. Would be hard to contain two talls in Mooney and Lonergan, and two mid-sized forwards who present well in Gamble and SJ, with the likes of Varcoe, Stokes and Chapman sniffing around for crumbs, as well as defensive pressure on the ball carrier on the way out.

Stokes and Chapman in the midfield would also add some of the hardness at the ball that Gaz offers week in, week out.

I agree we need a tagger to come in for Ling, and Djerrkura is supposed to be doing that in the VFL, I reckon his speed and tackling skills would be good on Cooney.
I doubt Kelly is gonna be right for the next match, so you would have to let Prismall get a go.

Ling, Ablett and maybe Taylor (this time I will concede the Dogs play that small up forward he may not be needed, would have no problem if he was retained though) out.

l don't think dave johnson will get a go,yes he has played well on aker in the past!! but AKER is in great form and probably in AA form l dont think a guy playing in the VFL will do the job......but we'll see what happens

In great form but he's still not Aker of 04 and DJ was able to stop him then. As for a guy playing in the VFL he is a guy that has played enough AFL to slot back in and when you look at our midfield and defense the last year and a half and the lack of injuries we've had it's no wonder he's never got much of a look in apart from a game like this. He is probably unlikely to be played (was moved into emergencies for this week though) but that does not mean it would not make good sense for him to play.

hes kicked something like 16-18 goals in the last 4 matches in the vfl, he deserves to get anotyher shot at it. Maybe, from left field, send mooney back? although vfl is another level, its still fair impressive, and shows consistancy

I'd also love to see dekurra get a game, been playin good in the vfl

i think djekurra is better than average chance for a game, has put together 3+ good weeks in the VFL, and with Varcoe progressing a bit further up the field, Djekurra could play Varcoe's old role? I just hope kane tenace doesn't get called up.

kane tenace wont play. didnt play vfl on the weekend due to a knee injury.

djerkerra wont come in atleast as a tagger, cooney would smash him. he did a good job on a good clearence player few weeks back but only tagged once and cooney is an all round play who would towel him up. but in saying that geelong arent afraid to try things.

i dont think taylor will stay in due to bulldogs height.

but in saying that also they do have minson, welsh, johnson and murphy so who knows. i think taylor would be a perfect match up for scott welsh, scarlett on johnson, milburn on minson, mackie on murphy, enright on aker, and harley on a small.
