Assuming Davey will be ready to go, who comes out?

I honestly can't think of anyone based on todays peformance. Not to mention we have Gumby, Prismall, Reimers, Colyer on the sideline, but i doubt seeing them getting a game, maybe Prismall if anyone pulls up sore.

Out: Howlett (If injured)
In: Davey (if ready) Riemers (If Davey not ready)

Riemers was B.O.G in the Bendigo game, so if Davey can't come up I'd like to see Riemers given a chance, maybe a little biased because i like him :D

But if Howlett pulls up okay (from reports its only a knock) would you seriously consider not including Davey? IMO he's in our best 22, if I had to choose it would be NLM to come out.

Bellchambers is unlucky aswell, I won't be suprised if GWS snap him up.

^^ posted in the Bellchambers player watch thread about the same thing!! Praying he doesn't leave us. Looks to have really come along this preseason.

Davey isn't a great sub option imo. Keep NLM provided he shows form and fitness. Today's effort shouldn't be seen as negative from him.

New sub rule makes things a little more interesting.

Can you have the same sub 2 weeks in a row? It means the guy potentially gets only a half or so of football over 2 weeks.

Would it be better to be a sub one week then VFL next week for a full game?

Personally, I'd think you'd need to rotate subs.

Don't think NLM has played a lot over the preseason so should he be getting match fitness at VFL level?

I agree. NLM is probably the perfect sub. Has the athletism to play a midfield role if needed to, and has the ability to be a KPP if one goes down. But I would be highly unfair to have the same sub week in week out only getting a quarter of footy. I just can't think of anyone to be replaced by Davey. Maybe Winderlich...

Yeah good point.

It's still horses for courses though. And on average, NLM would be the best suited against most opposition match ups. I think he moulds the average Sydney player quite well: tough, bit of height, not blistering quick, good at the clearances, well built. etc.

Tempted to keep him vs. Sydney and then look at maybe a running option (Colyer/Reimers) vs. Saints.

I think you will find most clubs will rotate their sub between 22nd spot and VFL/Starting 21 depending on the quality of the player.

So assuming we dont change starting 21 other than Howlett if he is injured, who is a good sub for us other than NLM against Swans.

Would consider Williams as a midfield/forward option, or Bellchambers to cover a tall going down. (Hille/Ryder go forward, Hurley goes back if need be).

If Howlett goes down, wouldnt mind Colyer. Swans have a lot of pace.
Or Hibberd to allow Dempsey a little bit of freedom.

I'd be wanting to get Williams and Gumbleton and Davey getting a game inour forward line in the next 4 games, if fit..
Against the Bulldogs you usually go in with a tall forward line, but against the Swans you need more speed and forward pressure..
Davey's great at forward pressure and is quick, maybe we could bring him in for Crameri? Not saying Crameri deserves to lose his spot, but sometimes it pays to have different structures against different teams.

Surely Prismall has to come in, I remember someone on your board said that he was ranked in the top 3.

Someone lacking credibility perhaps. He's not someone you'd ink into our best 22, although some supporters pencil him in there.

Very hard to omit a player. Baring injuries perhaps Davey most worthy wont play?
Perhaps Howlett or Myers. But again I think both should hold there spots.

Ideal sub NLM plays next week, same role. Was good in limited game time.

I thought the only person to play perhaps a touch average was Myers. But even he was ok.
