I must admit I've found his radio (match day) since he retired. I think its because it doesn't feel right that he can retire from the team and then start making judgements on them while he is technically still listed.

I have a concern that he's going to push hard for relevance in the media.
 
I did hear a rumour about this a month ago but I wrote it off in my own mind. I'll say this much, Hinkley had a profound effect on Dixon while they were both at the Suns. He got the best out of Charlie, something McKenna struggled to do.

That article featured literally 2 sentences about him and relate to any references or backup evidence at all.

Would love him at Port but this seems like something a journo has just pulled out of his arse to get publicity.
 
I don't think he'll cost an arm and a leg trade wise. A third team would probably end up getting involved. We wouldn't be able to trade both our first rounders (15 and 16) due to not using a 1st rounder last year; so a third team would have to get involved. A package involving a 1st rounder and two 2nd rounders would surely get it done. Could look like this:

Port lose: Schulz, 1st rounder (2015), 2nd rounder (either year)
Port gain: Dixon

Freo lose: 2nd round pick (either year)
Freo gain: Schulz

GC lose: Dixon
GC gain: Port's 1st rounder (2015), port's second rounder (either year), and Freo's second rounder (either year)

I would prefer to keep our first round pick this year, but given that we'll be expected to climb up the ladder next year, to get Dixon will involve our 1st round pick, not sure how we could possibly get around that.

If he was after publicity he would be sending Dixon to Collingwood.

It's a Melbourne journo sending a Queensland forward to an SA club. Nobody makes that shit up. Well maybe Shuttsy. ;)

I'm under the impression that the 4 year cycle will start next year as it would be unfair on the clubs that traded their picks last year; lions, doggies, Adelaide and hawthorn would all be disadvantaged.

have you lost your marbles? he is 24 and averages 1.3 goals a game and has spent just as much time injured as what he has on the park. I dont even want to give up our first rounder let alone first and second. we will have a top ten pick for the first time in a while. i want to use it.

I did think about that, maybe he's just a bad journo...

I find it even more suspicious that he shares the same last name as Troy McClure from the Simpsons.
