Brilliant. I said a week ago that Gardiner should be our number 1 target. Has run a tight ship at the Swans in his time there, this is the best outcome we could have hoped for after losing Wright.

I am really onboard now you've posted Pexxy

(I won't say it, but a lot of posters here are shockers)

I'm pretty surprised by this. He seems pretty new to the football admin game compared to GW. Let's hope you are good Charlie, as it's a very senior and important role.

Time to lose his resting Sydney face

Edit: welcome Charlie you winner!
A Frankston boy like you must be concerned with the direction the club is taking. Two of the holy days of Frankston are being disrespected by the club.

Firstly the lessons you taught on round up a ranga day have gone unheard with Leppa. Now beat up a nerdy looking bloke day is being disrespected by the club with this appointment.

and Also based in Melbourne already

Pleased to see Gardiner appointed as our new GM of footy. Has a good reputation in the AFL industry so looks like a sensible appointment.

Quietly relieved we didn't opt to go for Justin Reid from Adelaide. Given his prior relationship with Craig Kelly at TLA, the appointment was always going to be marred with accusations that Kelly was looking after his mates rather than appointing the best available person for the job.

Noticed Trevor Hendy is back at the club in a leadership role. He previously worked for us back in 2014-2016.

Happy with the appointment. Very intelligent functioning human is Charlie, and seems to have done a fair bit in his time in footy, from playing the game, to coaching in the Swans academy to the role of GM of footy with them, to their legal counsel. He has ticked off a few boxes there, and he's only 41, whilst also having a Bachelor of Law and being a senior associate at a law firm previously to the Swans.
Highly regarded within the AFL, so look forward to what he brings to our great club. Welcome aboard Charlie....🏆⚪⚫⚪⚫🏆

Ticks most boxes

Great to see the associated announcements also about investing extra funds into the footy area.
