By the rule it's a red. His handling of it, on top of the card for Mendy for kicking the ball away when Salah did so and didn't get punished, and Fabinho committing about 6 fouls and not getting booked, was poor.

35th minute, Lukaku streaming fwd if he had played it earlier to Havertz run, Kai would've been one on one with the keeper and when he's in that position it's always in the back of the net. Should've been 2-0.
I love Havertz, he's so good and still getting better.

We looked better than them in the first half, and defended absolutely superbly in the second. I’m actually so buoyed by that performance. Think we’re a red hot chance to be right there at season’s end, again. The blend of players look right and Tuchel is nothing short of a genius.

I'm seeing 4 mil loan fee. Option to buy for 35. Not too bad given he's a top La Liga midfielder and he's only 26. I'm sure we all wanted Kounde but we would have signed him as a prospect. Saul fills a need now. Plus 80 mils for Kounde would have been overs imo. Shame we left it this late, might have been able to get something done

This is the strongest group, team and manager, we've had in a decade. Proper depth now to challenge all trophies for the next couple of years.

Please just ****ing let Tuchel do the work. To turn us around like he did proves his quality as a manager, now if we start seeing players he wants coming in I can't wait to see how the team performs.

also lol @ the suggestion our defence has holes. In a couple of years, maybe. At the moment though, it's working beautifully. I think people for some reason underrate AC as well, he is absolutely in world class form at the moment.

Werner doesn't get enough credit for what he does. He drew the two defenders away from Lukaku as Azpi made the run for the third goal. So glad we got such a positive result in a game where we didn't really generate many chances, just comes to show how important having a clinical finisher in Lukaku is too

Hoping Timo starts this weekend, he's not getting much game time. I feel like he and Lukaku would cause havoc with their speed, add Havertz for his class in the final 3rd and you've got a defenders nightmare.

Geez last nights game was horrible to watch, played terrible.

But RLC got me excited with his cameo, hope he gets a few starts as he's certainly got the talent.

Wonder what the story is with Chilwell.
In fairness, Alonso has started the season really well and Tuchel mentioned that Chilly was struggling a bit after not playing even a minute at the Euros.
But Alonso was shithouse last night and given the run of games we have now, Chilly should start at least the first few.

RLC looked so good last night and in the cup game, probably should have come on earlier as linking the defence and attack was where we struggled majorly and he was just balling when he came on. Wouldn't be opposed to him starting behind the front two against Brentford.

Another terrible performance with hardly any intent to attack, and it highlights just how important James and Mount are to this side (Kante as well who missed this morning's match). Just 1 shot on target in our last 2 games.

Big game against Soton now and, given they held City and United to draws (City a scoreless one), it could be a frustrating night as they love to sit back. Need the 3 points to get some confidence back.

Feels like Alonso is tiring big time, and his form has dropped right off. Time for Chilly to start this weekend, RLC should also be rewarded with a start.

God the game versus city was awful, we looked second rate. But I'd like to see Werner and Luk again.
