He obviously didnt make the final cut then??
Round 1 is not to far away..........how about some tips ......i`ll go as follows:
Dunnstown vs Beaufort.....Beaufort by 16 points
Clunes vs Rokewood.........Clunes by 44 points
Daylesford vs Gordon........Daylesford by 29 points
Learmonth vs Hepburn.......Hepburn by 63 points
Carngham vs illabrook........Illabrook by 1 point
Newlyn vs Creswick...........Newlyn by 22 points
Skipton vs Bungaree..........Bungaree by 45 points
Springbank vs Bunninyong...Bunninyong by 6 points
Waubra vs Ballan...............Waubra by 25 points
Just a guess but see how it goes.........anyone else ?
Random tips from myself without having much time to see who's playing and who's not but I'll take a stab.
Dunnstown vs Beaufort Beaufort by 4 goals
Clunes vs Rokewood.........Clunes comfortably 6 or 7 goals
Daylesford vs Gordon........Daylesford should have it easy 40 points
Learmonth vs Hepburn.......Hepburn no brainer well over 10 goals
Carngham vs illabrook........ Interesting one this one from what I've read and heard but I think it might be worth watching, not going to be the greatest of skills but probably a tight contest Illabrook by 10 points
Newlyn vs Creswick...........Newlyn by 5 goals
Skipton vs Bungaree..........Bungaree easily, I dunno, say 8 goals
Springbank vs Bunninyong.......Bunninyong by 21 points
Waubra vs Ballan...... I don't care who Ballan has recruited or what they're capable of, I think Waubra will have this one no problems at all 6 goals.

Went and watched the Ballan roadshow toddy and they are a 20 goal better side than last year ... Sure Williams is a gun but geez they have some movers around the the footy.
Got beat by experience I reckon in the end but at Waubra a great effort only going down by 10 points ...
If they keep the same game style that their coach has changed they could destroy some sides.

What happened after 1/2 time terrier? I saw the first 2 quarters of this game and after dominating the 2nd term I thought Ballan would have taken the chocolates.
Williams was very good and as you would expect, his class was evident. Interesting to see Zac Peoples back in Ballan colours - is he a regular this year or still working in WA? Best on ground in the 1st half in my opinion.
Waubra looked a shadow of the team that won the flag last year, not sure how many of their best 22 were missing apart from Pellisier and Russell but there was quite a few running around that I hadn't seen before. Didn't help that there was no numbers in the record! I know it is only round 1 but they might be in for a slide down the ladder if Saturday is any indication. Sean Mullane was carried off on a stretcher early on with what looked like a leg injury? Anybody know the extent of his injury?
Had a look at the 2nd 1/2 of Learmonth v Hepburn. Burras look a powerful unit again with some very handy recruits into the line up. Salesi Uhi has lost none of his excitement factor. Asa Leausa is a very good player and the surprise packet for me was Giri. Yet another avenue to goal in an already star studded attack makes Hepburn flag favourites for me. They will take some stopping.
tips for round 2..
Gordon vs Waubra...........Waubra by 33
Ballan vs Carn/Linton........Ballan by 75
Bungaree vs Springbank....Bungaree by 54
Clunes vs Newlyn.............Newlyn by 29
Creswick vs Learmonth......Creswick by 40
Dunnstown vs Daylesford...Daylesford by 21
Hepburn vs Beaufort..........Hepburn by 111
Illabrook vs Skipton...........Skipton by 88
Bunnyong vs Rokewood......Bunnyong by 66
Gordon vs Waubra...........3 goals. Should be an intersting guage on Waubra more so than anything. I've heard a few reports that Waubra weren't overly impressive last week and with Coleman and Mullane going down with major injuries that could really hurt them, possibly bringing them back to the pack for a top 4 spot.
Ballan vs Carn/Linton........Ballan by lots. Ballan might just be contesting for a lower spot in the top 8 at this stage. Thier midfield still has question marks on it and will probably be the determining factor to whether they make it
Bungaree vs Springbank....Should have a clearer picture on just how much Springbank have improved this weekend
Clunes vs Newlyn.............6 goals. Clunes didn't win by as much as expected last week and Newlyn are clearly going to be class. Buninyong next week for Newlyn and this should be the perfect warm up for them.
Creswick vs Learmonth......4 goals. Wickers have improved a bit I hear and the Lakies have some work to do before they are regularly competing.
Dunnstown vs Daylesford... 8 goals. Daylesford should get the job done fairly easy here.
Hepburn vs Beaufort..........5 goals. First real litmus test for Beaufort but I have heard a few reports that Nigel Otto has ripped the calf off the bone and is done for the year. The Burra look the team to beat this year with some really good top line players altho thier depth is perhaps weaker than usual?? A couple of injuries throughout the season may bring them back to the pack methinks..
Illabrook vs Skipton...........10 goals. Skipton are a better side than last year from what I saw last week, altho they were very understrength in 2011 when we played them. Think they will comfortably account for an improved Illabarook
Buninyong vs Rokewood......15 goals. Buninyong to put a cricket score past Rokewood.
Otto has a tear in his achilles. Will be back this year.
Big ask to come back from an achilles tear in quick time. Rush it & he'll snap it & if he does make it back this year he will most likely have fitness issues. Good luck to him though, he is vital to Beauforts chances.
Rd 2 tips
Ballan by 5 goals. Jury still out on the Blues but should account for CL
Bungaree by 10 goals. Will be thereabouts this year.
Newlyn by 3 goals. Clunes could pinch this 1 at home if Newlyn aren't on their game.
Daylesford by 6 goals. Home ground to minimise the damage for Dunnstown.
Gordon by 4 goals. Reality to hit Waubra that the era is over.
Hepburn by 12 goals. No disgrace for Beaufort but Hepburn a class above the rest.
Buninyong by 12 goals. Way too strong.
Skipton by 5 goals. Bulldogs to put up a fight but Skipton just more talented simple as that.
Creswick by 4 goals to christen the new home.
Was in Creswick for work the other day and called in for a look. Bloody good set up
Did they move the 44 gallon drum up to the new ground Roota
so they can all stand around drinking beam cans during the game and smoke everyone out?
Is it true that ex Newlyn and Daylesford coach Phil Davis is back on board at Newlyn? Seems like a front runner from a far !!!Went and watched creswick vs newlyn last weekend, my first impression was that the newlyn side looked a fitter outfit overall and as the game began rotated heavily leaving me to think they would run out the game stronger. Edwards up forward was instrumental for newlyn early having a hand in a number of the first quarter goals .
The difference could have been far greater at quarter time with inside fifties being largely in newlyns favour though creswick were making good on their limited fwd thrusts.
The second quarter spun around and creswick started to even up the clearences and inside 50's to the point where they could have been closer at half time than the four goals the scoreboard showed however as the teams walked in at the break it seemed to me newlyn had the more belief.
Certainly newlyn controlled the later part of both quarters and creswick may have to play some tempo football at times.
It is true there was little switch of play and newlyn had some more individual brilliance from your bromelys etc however the flleet of foot newlyn could be brought undone by a side that can tackle well or sets up a midfield zone that slows their movement down and allows numbers to get back.
I also note that their defence will be light on against some of the better teams unless their midfield amke the effort to run back as hard as they run fwd.
For creswick they seem to lack aerial ability across the ground which will make it hard as the ball will always be in play when they have it and i am not sure they have the legs to maintain that, some slight tinkering to the game plan and some set plays will see them improve as the year goes on .
All in all a cracking day for footy
