The downball/foursquare thread made me think of this.

In primary school (in my case, 1970s), did anyone else have this? :

I had fond memories of it but hardly remember how it worked. Was kindah like dominoes, but with pipelines instead of numbers/dots. Had to make the pipes connect based on number/position of pipes, and their colour.

I'd love to just see it again for the posterity.

Had (or still have) all the bolded. And Squatter as well.

Discover Australia was a good one with a massive map of Australia for the board. Can't find a pic of it online.

And don't forget Trimula - just 3D noughts and crosses really.

Edit - You don't get games with pictures of people smoking on the box these days!

The ad went 'This man has just paid $500,00 for this masterpiece by Van Dyke only to discover..' (turns over card - FORGERY) - 'I'm ruined!'

Pretty crap game actually.

The game of life was good, though.

Did anyone evr play Billionaire? 'twas briefly popular about 20 years ago - great fun.

My favourite board games would probably be Scattergories, Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble. Nothing ever beats Scrabble.

Back when we were like 5 and 8, my older brother's American (or Canadian) pen pal sent him a board game called Brain Quest. It was pretty much just an answer questions game, and make your way across the board. It had grade 1-6 questions, and I think you had to answer the number you rolled. It was pretty fun. Although some of the questions were all Americany, and that young kids from Australia had no chance of knowing :p

Monopoly, The Game Of Life, UNO, Connect 4 off the top of my head.

Add Guess Who? to the list and that sums up my childhood :D. While Monopoly is a classic, i have more fond memories of playing The Game of Life.

I mostly stuck with "themed" board games - TMNT, The Simpsons, Neighbours (yes i still own it), NBA JAM Session, Wheel of Fortune, It's a Knockout etc.

I still play UNO today, however it has a more interesting twist (strip Uno FTW).

Mouse Trap anyone?

Never actually played the game, just set it up and made the trap work.

This video explains it perfectly actually -

These three. Amazing games. My grandma used to have these and I would sit and play them for hours.

I loved Risk. I also had a computer version. A friend and I played it for hours. Also loved Cluedo.
