Asia China's growing influence

I love watching travel blogs. The experience of independent travel bloggers who’ve actually been to China really debunk all the propaganda shoved down our throats about the country:

This backs up the experience I had when visiting the nation under the “brutal rule” of the “criminal dictatorship”. I know some will dismiss the opinions of those travel bloggers as “they are CCP shills! And bring paid off by the CCP!” Nothing is further from the truth, they are independent travellers who’ve seen a placed and formed an opinion with their own eyes.

Travel and see things with your own eyes. It’s an eye opener to how much propaganda is shoved down our throats. Like how the media pumps up that the USA is the “exceptional and best country on the planet” but all I saw throughout extensive travel there was a broken and decaying nation.
They are propaganda shrills, amazing how with all the tight rules on filming, social media access etc they get such good access.

The same Chinese people who in indecent surveys of nations consistently rate the performance of their government higher than western nations?

Also China did much better on Covid than the West. Eastern collectivism vs western individualism was the root of that
amazing in a country where even senior leaders are disappeared or jailed for even hinting the government isn't perfect, people when asked say it is good. All that survey does is reinforce the oppressive nature of the Xi dictatorship particularly with the CCP stranglehold under more threat as the people of China learn more about how rich their corrupt leaders are and yearn for freedom.

Covid, the Chinese people did well as you would expect from such a group. Xi deserves to hang for suppressing information, threatening nations who closed borders etc and we will never know how many million died in China. The only truths are a horrible pandemic occurred and Xi's desperation to save face led to him suppressing information costing a hundred millions lives. In a just world, Xi and the CCP leadership would already have been tried and executed and reparations made (I think all debt owed by any entity to a CCP controlled organisation being forgiven would have been a good first payment)

Or are they just revealing a truth you don’t agree with? I’ve followed most of them for years and they travel most countries and have stated they have never taken Chinese government money to spread propaganda.

I myself have been to China, if you download a very cheap VPN you have access to all western social media unrestricted, I was able to photograph everywhere including Tianemen Square and the Forbidden City in Beijing without any police trying to stop me. My word there were thousands of people filming and zero police there trying to stop them so your lie has been debunked by myself because I actually went there.

But don’t take my or their word for it - there’s visa free travel now why not travel to China yourself and see the truth?

Have always enjoyed this one for what it's like to live there:

And just like the rest she has a positive view of the nation and doesn’t think it’s a dystopian North Korea style gulag

Why did you need a VPN?

I did data roaming and had access to YouTube, Instragram etc and I even went to Xinjiang.

The truth of what's been discussed is somewhere in the middle from your position (favourable) and the position of others here (unfavourable). In certain regions in China you can't go anywhere without giving up your passport and there is definitely an eye of suspicion. Not likely to see things like that in Shanghai/Beijing etc but those cities still have weird things happen - the regular march of emotionless soldiers around Shanghai's busy streets at night is hardly normal.

Cite DeepSeek, and Western chip makers stocks fall.
The real fall will be if China can start producing their own chips.

I don't think the AI is the big problem, I think it's that China isn't as far behind the US tech giants as the US tech giants wanted the world to believe. Nvidia still makes the best chips, mostly made in Taiwan, but if China get close with a decent GPU chip, Nvidia's price will fall further.

How far away are they? 5 years? 2 years? 6 months?

Specialised chips are needed for AI. And if early rumours are correct, Chinese AI's competitive advantage is requiring less.

You'd think they'd be flat out reverse engineering that.

I think the difference in human ingenuity and approach is the wake up call. Outperforms other AI with less investment and operating cost, and an innovative learning model. Released on Christmas Day I believe, assuming there are other unreleased innovations.

For whatever twisted reason, Trump does appear intent to utterly destroying American soft power and diplomatic trust. The PRC will eagerly fill the gap.
Once Trump gets bored of signing EOs and there is nobody left to fire on a Friday afternoon he'll try some sort of flex on China.
Will most likely end in tears.

China keeping busy in South America

I'd expect an equivalent map of Africa to be relatively similar.

"Soft" expansion has been a CCP doctrine for decades.
