As every day passes the EU and China get closer, and the EU moves further away from the US.

Absolutely. Just ignore the US at this point and let them collaborate with their natural allies, Russia, Argentina, Hungary and Israel. The rest of the world can forge a different path:

I watched a video today that claimed it is law in China that every ship or ferry (cannot remember precisely what boats) must be built to carry military loads, ie. tanks.
It would have to be ferries or the like. Fishing boats couldn't unless they were the big factory types.

These ties between Europe and China need to be strengthened to weaken the US's trading position, and make the US over it's tariffs policy

It is mentioned at 3:30 in this video

It’s hilarious watching overglorified light infantry give an analysis of a geopolitical issue.

In night as well get the guy who mops the toilets in a hospital to give me a run down on neurosurgery.

This clown is just trying to drum up support for his silly book. China isn’t invading Australia despite whatever nonsense comes out of the mouth of a warmonger who has a vested interest in drumming up fear says.

Pretty sure that China have scoped plenty of Southern hemisphere/Pacific ocean.
Just did a lap of Australia for fun.
Think they'll pull the trigger on Taiwan soon and will get away with it.
They will take it sans war crimes compared to Russia,Israel,US.

I can only imagine it's because of the uncertainty of Trump toward Taiwan and China. Taiwan's Cabinet makes a move, kind of like hiring a specialist assistant coach.

Cabinet appoints ex-Japan Self-Defense Forces head as unpaid adviser

The Executive Yuan, Taiwan's highest administrative organ, has appointed former chief of Japan's Self-Defense Forces Joint Staff, Shigeru Iwasaki, as a political affairs consultant,
According to a report published by Japan's Asahi Shimbun Friday, Iwasaki, "the former top uniformed officer of the Self-Defense Forces," retired in October 2014 and then served as a special policy adviser to the Japanese defense ministry.

And anecdotally, I have in-laws who live downtown. They said a couple of military guys came to their place and wanted to scope out the roof. They explained its for heightened preparedness for defense. Our airport is also an important airbase.

China isn't going to like this, as China thinks it owns all the South China sea
Articles lack details but I presume this about the Anambas islands? the only claim that Vietnam and Indonesia overlap(I think)

China and Indonesia's claim barely touch so there's very little dispute there. Having said that the fact that this deal took 12 years of negotiations might point to the fact that's it's a little more complicated than China bad

Remember the Republic of Formosa!!!

...In 1894, China and Japan went to war. In a few months, the Japanese defeated China's Beiyang fleet, routed the Chinese armies in Manchuria, and captured Port Arthur and Weihaiwei. Although nearly all the fighting took place in northern China, Japan had important territorial ambitions in southern China. As the war approached its end, the Japanese took steps to ensure that Taiwan would be ceded to Japan under the eventual peace treaty and that they were well placed militarily to occupy the island...

Official Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Formosa (1895)

The Japanese have affronted China by annexing our territory of Formosa, and the supplications of us, the People of Formosa, at the portals of the Throne have been made in vain. We now learn that the Japanese slaves are about to arrive.

If we suffer this, the land of our hearths and homes will become the land of savages and barbarians, but if we do not suffer it, our condition of comparative weakness will certainly not endure long. Frequent conferences have been held with the Foreign Powers, who all aver that the People of Formosa must establish their independence before the Powers will assist them.

Now, therefore, we, the People of Formosa, are irrevocably resolved to die before we will serve the enemy...

China making the right foreign policy moves as the U.S. sinks further into an Idiocracy:

The wins keep on coming:

Yet Australian media are in tears over the “spy ship” several hundred miles off the coast.

Media will do anything to get Libs in to help their share portfolios and get the rich richer.
