i lived in the uk for 2 years and would say they were friendlier in general. i have had more random chats over in bars/pubs than i have here. we are very cliquey in oz.

UK- 10 years ago: complete bastards. UK- last year: quite nice ppl.

America- 10 years ago and last year: very nice people. They are more welcoming, like as in inviting you in their home (obviously these are personal experiences), "whats mine is yours" mentality, people say hello to you on the street (unlike here- I found this very weird and even uncomfortable as Im not used it it), and just a really good sense of humour too. One family I met at a camp site loved me so much, I think they wanted to adopt me. :oops:

Even New Yorkers are pretty friendly. And they always help a tourist out. (or steal from them /jk)

yeah, thats why i think its all relative and would be interested to know what outsiders who visit/live here.

or maybe you are just an endearing young lady whilst i am a jaded ole man.

Jesus- what year is it- 2009. We broke up a year ago mate. :D

But Phil is good, working out in the western suburbs now (yeh i see the irony- all thru our relationship he lives over an hour away, we break up, and he now lives 15 mins away LOL)- FT job, enjoying it ok.

Things are okay with me too, working on the junior campus now, absolutely loving it. (Dont have to see my boss anymore-bitch- like only a couple times a term I see her, is brilliant). And making new friends, so all good I guess.
