They recruited some older bodies who only had a year or two left to shepherd in the new rookies
Fielding a team of 22 kids isn't going to work
Playing someone like a Masten or a Roughead isn't going to quell development - it's going to support it
This is what I think.
Having a few of these types in the team is a good thing. It's only a bad thing when there are too many of them... but having say one in each of the main positions of the ground - forward/middle/back, is good for supporting those young players that are on the field, and putting a strong body in there for when more developed teams try to bully them around.
