Disappointed in half the muppets commenting in this thread. How about we watch him do his thing in the jumper before we go and bash him. This is the sort of shit carlton supporters do and then jump back on when he shows something. He's going to give his all, lets give him a chance, if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work. He gives a bit of protection to our superstar young forward, goes hard and can kick goals. Good luck to him.
how long have you been barracking for the pies for?

He's a Collingwood player now so he has my full support.

I'm not sure why we'd pay as much as we have for him on a 4 year deal, but having said that I'm not privy to the deal, and whether it is front/back loaded etc.

Clearly he adds something to our side, even if it is just leadership, forward structure and defensive pressure. Whether he is worth the price tag is yet to be seen, but I'll be cheering for him now he will be pulling on the black and white.

Taking away the financial element, he obviously comes to us as a Free Agent so it didn't cost us valuable picks that can be put towards Brown and Daicos. So it was a good result in that regards.

From purely a structural point of view, I think he slots in nicely to our 22 and adds another element to our forward line. I think he was frustrated at the Dockers and his final 2 year were below par. He is young enough to still deliver the sort of footy he displayed in 2014ish. If he can kick 30 goals next year then he will be extremely valuable in a forward line with Fasolo and Elliott.

Best of luck to Mangles.
Hope he can fit in.
People were heaping shit on Paul Medhurst when he came over and the guy become a favourite, even with the beard.

The only people who will have not loved Medders will be trolls like Thatsgold who were not even members then.

Why the focus on goal scoring. Not going to happen. Let him get the man and let others have the ball. His job is to hunt the opposition. Or drive them in the arms of a warm and welcoming Rupert.

And Rupert is not so warm and welcoming  not to opponents

Wouldn't have been my choice but maybe drafted as insurance in case Elliott doesn't come up or money and contract length not as per media reports.

Anyway, he is one of ours now so will support him until his form dictates otherwise.

Gee I hope the club knows what it is doing.

Elliott be 1 reason but I doubt the only Reason.

I say our Terrible Forward Pressure was the Biggest Reason we brought him in

Mayne is a heart and soul player, will give the Pies his all - every game. When the chips are down, he won't give up and will give you a chance to turn a game around.

Unfortunately, he developed the yips - but being in a team where we just kicked to Pav, it made it hard for all other taller players to be in the shadow. So your Tarrant went from forward to defender and your Jack Anthony couldn't kick a goal to save their lives at Freo. Young Taberner for us has struggled (even when on the lead and free - we kick to Pav with 2 or 3 players hanging off him).

Maynes relentless pressure and work ethic would be good for any team, if his yips are fixed in a different environment, you have a good player.

All the best with him :)
