AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.

Can anyone give a rundown of what was said?
Good work, markr! The Shoe: Played as a forward but think can play forward or back, or even as an outside wingman. Short term we'll play him as a wingman or halfback to develop a defensive side to his game since he has played mostly forward. We think we can develop him over time as a backman.
We had the first 11 picks in the draft, in order, correctly predicted.
We've done research on 5 or 6 that we expected to be there. The Shoe was in our top 12 ranked players.
Shiels: Very conscience of taking youth in while we could. Impressed with how profressional he is. Hard in and outside mid. Very competative in the Sewell or Mitchell mould. Uses the ball well. Will do year 12.
Lisle: Surprised available at 50. Will develop a body similar to Roughead. Uses the ball well, some concerns over lack of speed, it's something we'll work on.
Lowden: Tallest player in draft. Conscious that GC will make ruckmen, particularly over 204cm, very hard to find. Speculative pick. Will do year 12.
Savage: Kicking ability in top 10% of TAC cup. 17 but has finished year 12. Wingman with genuine speed and agility. Don't expect he'll play senior footy, but they'll place that challenge on him, but still needs to develop his body.
We've appointed a recruiting analyst who basically studies stats from all around Australia so we can compare players from different regions.
Chris is planning on staying at Hawthorn for a long time.
Sum up 5 selections: Expect the three 17 year olds to develop slower, but expect the two 18 year olds (Lisle and the Shoe) to at least be some chance of playing league footy next year. Have to be aware that since we have the last pick in each round we don't have the obvious talent available so we've perhaps been more speculative than other clubs, but we expect it to work out in 2 or 3 years.

Yup. So he's 17 and developing, and they don't expect he'll be pushing for a spot in the firsts in his first season, but he's not doing school like Shiels and Lowden, so if he had an incredible pre-season or some amazing Box Hill form you never know.I'm assuming the bolded means this coming season?
