I had an issue with a telco a few years back, they were trying to charge me for a service they connected at an address I didn't live it, I was going to move and booked in the change, they changed before the date and when I didn't move and rang up to cancel they went full arseh*le.
Had to lodge with TIO before they would back down
The model these days is tell customers they have to pay no matter what and fight until it's going to cost you more as a company to continue.
They get away with a lot this way
