What ever happened to the Classic Jobber?

Guys like Big Joe Mirto, Iron Mike Sharp, Barry O, and S D Special Delivery Jones.

These guys always struggled to win. The question is did they ever win?

Can any of you guys think of others of this ilk?

As you might guess by my username, I loved the old WWF jobbers. They were heroes to me. Screw John Cena, give me John K9 anytime of the day. Steve Austin? Bah, Steve Lombardi is the real man.

Here's my definitve list:

AJ Petruzzi, Steve Lombardi, Iron Mike Sharpe, Barry O ,John K9, Rusty Brookes, Ron Shaw, The Gladiator, Mr X, SD Jones, Joe Mirto, Jim Powers, Paul Roma, Sivi Afi, Mike Jackson, Sandy Beach, Quick Draw Rick McGraw, Leaping Lanny Poffo, Jim Young, Tony Garea, Rene Goulet.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Thanks for that Rusty. Looks Iike I got the spelling of Iron Mike Sharpe wrong. Remember that rubbish he wore on his wrist? And my favourite, Mr X, from parts unknown, weight unknown. Fantastic. Finally Rene Goulet with his LeScorpio. It's puts Mankind's Manable Claw to shame.

I am sure there was an Asian wrestler as well, from Korea....was it Tiger Chun Lee or something like that?

SD Jones's finest moment as a Jobber was getting a gig at Wrestlemania 1 and lasting 9 seconds against King Kong Bundy...........They were the days, when Superstars of Wrestling was on and it was only about three months behind what was going on in the States. That was good though because that was about how far behind the issues of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, the Wrestler and the other magazines were anyway. I remember reading about some bloke called Ted DiBiase and not knowing how to pronounce the name (as I was reading it) and then one day he appeared on the WWF and was trying to buy everyone......because every man has a price....HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Don Driggers, Mario Mancini, Terry Morgan and how could you forget Ricky Hunter and Terry Gibbs??? I loved it all back then and am slowly building a good library of tapes of all tv shows from 1985-1990.
