Rumour Clayton Oliver

So, if the drug strike rumour were to be legit, that would mean the altercation that Oliver had with the trainer bloke was staged for the benefit of the cameras? If so, that's some Oscar-worthy acting by Clayton. Unprecedented you might say.
There are also persistent rumours of a Goonies remake.

Be interesting to see if any Melbourne supporters have a foot fetish and can detmine if he had a new foot tattoo in the mid part of the year.

NGL I genuinely thought the way everything happened that it was 2nd strike related but have heard now that the infected blister was the result of a foot tattoo after he initially injured the hammy, which then completely messed with his ability to properly do rehab on the hammy.

That's the extent of what I was told, but would be interesting to know what impact an infection in the foot could have on a hamstring recovery. Was either pushing too hard or simply bad luck with circumstances that caused the longer setback with the hammy tho.

Hope he is right for finals as he is an absolute gun, regardless of support having guys like him on the park in our biggest games is what we want to see.

Going the cheap option was always a risk.

Rd 22 will be 12 weeks served .

I mean, you are not wrong.

It's an inordinate amount of time to miss for a hamstring 'complaint' that allowed him to play out the game in round 10.

On the second strike a player's name is made public and he serves a four-match suspension. A third strike incurs a 12-match suspension.

The only issue with this theory is that the only time Oliver, who has been remarkably durable, has missed 4 matches in a row was in his debut season. Unless somehow the COVID shutdown time was allowed to count? Now perhaps; pudgy, unprofessional Clayton got caught twice in the first 13 rounds of 2016. That's possible, but seems unlikely that someone who was caught twice in a year, was not caught for another 7 years.

I have to admit though, it's very suspicious that he will return after exactly 12 weeks, from an injury that has smelt a bit like BS from the start...

Problem with this theory is that there hasn't been a four week ban with him being publicly named.
Also, if you are banned I'd expect the player to not have any contact with the club.

I addressed that, did you even read my post?

What you might expect and what actually plays out could very well be two different scenarios. I put nothing past the AFL when it comes to protecting their image and brand.

For anyone who has ever done their hamstring before, they are notorious at being able to be "tweaked" again if you do not 100% follow the build up program and try push too hard too soon. It can be something as innocent as changing direction and it will set it off, causing a further setback.

He could of done any number of things outside of just training to re-injure which would delay it?

Also, with some hamstrings, you have the pain (and obviously knowledge it is there and tight) but a rub down and heat can mask it, which then allows you to play on during a game, only to realize later it was a bad idea...

Did you read the article you attached?

Strikes must take place within four years of each other to be considered second, third or subsequent strikes.

If he had a strike when he started, or two, he would have a clean slate this year.

A cover up like this, which could be potentially exposed, would be worse than the AFL banning a single player. I don't trust them but I think they are too smart to put their reputation on the line for a player doing party drugs.

just saw him getting doorstepped on his way into the club on 360...has he always come across as that cooked?
Yes. He's an odd ball for sure. Behaving erratic is his normal from what I can gather. Gets tongue tied/slurs words. I think that's just him though.

If ASADA testers were involved it would all be made public. But its not, so what you are saying is the AFL independently took samples from him, tested the samples, then covered up the result because they don't want players caught, and the player and club staged a dramatic confrontation with the trainers to further cover up the positive test, all orchestrated by the corrupt AFL, who don't want players to be caught, but against all their procedures decided to independently test a player for drugs, and then went into damage control to make sure nobody is known to test positive to drugs..........ok....

Sounds much easier than just not testing or suspending him.......

The level of stupidity of Bigfooty posters never ceases to amaze me.

ASADA dont care about non PEDs. The AFL just uses them because its easier.

For the 2nd strike "public" means alerting the club, not the media, doesnt it?

And its an AFL rule so if the AFL wants to ignore it they can.

This is him at last years AA for reference

I don't live in Vic so don't really get as much news media about these things up here, and tbh I haven't really cared enough to go looking for updates about some guy from a team I don't follows hammy.

However, I can't say I've seen any footage of him limping/running lame. Even that footage of him arguing with the trainer it looked to me like he was running fine. Maybe not at top speed, as was reported, but didn't look laboured at all. I can't recall any footage of him looking lame. Is this also true for those in the middle of football land?
