Look, great side and all and never had anything against them at all...BUT tonight they did a couple of things that smacked of outright arrogance and disappointed me greatly.
Led by Steve Johnson's grubber kick from a set shot.
That was just mug lair crap belonging in the lowest grades of footy.
I only wish Petrie had been able to get a hand on it.
Every dog has its day.

Agree... some of what they did was just too cute.

There was a bit there where Ablett I think it was could have kicked it but handballed to Steve Johnson. At that point I looked away and somehow they stuffed up. Silly stuff.... anyone want to let me know what happend?

Yeah winners are grinners they say, the Cats r just doing enough they remind me of Essendon from 2000-2001. Had one incredible yr and another very good yr after but by the end they were spent and their reign was over in a blink of an eye. Will be interesting to see how quickly teams work them out. I expect the Cats to figure heavily late in Septemeber this yr but i dont think they will be anywhere near as dominant as 2007, but quoting a famous line "time will tell"

Was that the one where Stevie J tried a banana kick from right in front and got no elevation so Gibbo was able to dive and get a hand to the ball?

They're that cocky, that they're cocky to themselves.

Exhibit A:

Byrnes did a mighty fine job of stopping Johnson from kicking a goal in the last minute.

Biggest WTF moment (umpiring not included) in a match I have seen in a while.

Would have been funnier if they were less than a goal up and we managed to kick one.

Funny thing is catters hate the living daylights out of byrnes.:D

How good was Gibsons spoils on the line when they tried to stab their kicks through the goals... I got hard

Mooney is the king of it.

Gets cheap goals, runs into an open goal square, and celebrates like he just outplayed Silvagni or something like that.

____ing tell me about it! I wanted Pratty to go up and just floor him. Or Harding to do a classic drive by and knock his teeth out. ____ I hate Mooney with a passion.

That must have been it. I turned away... only stevie j. moron.

LOL, that was an absolute classic. Everyone just looks around with a WTF look on their face. Never liked Byrnes.

it was lazy football by us not to have a man on the line... and he exploited it and made us look poor... they are the reigning premiers and sit 10-1 after 11 rounds... sadly they can afford to be smug...

So true Scotty. But this will come back & bite them, dont worry about that. We will have our time against them very soon.

I was hoping someone would smash Ablett & Mooney. I would have been willing to sacrifice one of our players just to get it done.

Hate is a strong word, but I hate the umps with a Passion.

Maybe...but having seen all of Hawthorn, WB and Collingwood live this season, as well as Geelong tonight...on what they've put up against us those 3 teams have Geelong covered in 08.

They can be as smug as they want, but they will have to improve considerably on that effort to go back to back.

Please delete my asshat posts to avoid further embarassment

The embarrassment, really was Geelong's effort tonight.

For the supposed Premiership favourite to win by only 3 goals, with a free kick count of 31-19 against a club with 27 fit players on the list....will be nice when you get shown up come finals time. This isn't 2007, plenty of teams have you covered this year.

Mooney's 7 goals must be the most influential 7 goals i have every seen. He is a goal square specialist We should have won the bloody game. Its funny, but my arrogant geelong supporting mate doesnt realise that his team only just over the line over a team that has its 2 best formards out(Over the past 4 years), its most damaging running midfielder (when in form) and its best rebounding defender.
Geelong are not that good. So pissed off with the umpiring. Just couldn't understand some of the decisions. Im drunk and fecken frustrated.

A win's a win I suppose.
Well played by you blokes.
Thought it was a great game, well contested by both teams...
Disappointed by some of the North supporters reactions though, expected better from you guys.
As for whether 'plenty' of teams have us covered, only time will tell.
But if you think we can't go up another gear on tonight's efforts then you are severely mistaken...
See you in September!:thumbsu:

The funny thing is, I dont think we will!

if geelong had taken us seriously they would have beaten us by 10goals with half our side out but i hope our players remember what arrogant pricks they were for next time we play them!

This thread is hilarious! So many complaints. It was a cracking game played hard and fast by both teams, but for so many of you complaining that if "this" happened or "that" happened we would have won! Did any of you actually realise Scarlett only played just over a quarter!!! If he didnt get injured he would have out marked your makeshift forward where our lesser backmen couldnt, also taking away the chances your crumbing forwards got by the ball coming to ground in situations where he could have marked them. Many peolpe argue he is the greatest full back, im not saying that but he is definately one of the best of this era and is clearly worth keeping 5-6 goals off the score last night. So stop complaining and even though you didnt win at least be happy you pushed the reigning premiers and can take a lot out of last nites game

We were far more worse off than Geelong, dont complain about missing Scarlett for a quarter. We have Jones,Thompson, Edwards, Wells, Smith injured. They play a MASSIVE part at the Kangaroos and not one played. Not to mention Sinclair is also injured. And that a fair few players hadnt played over 10 games last night.

He played a qrt, not missed a qtr, and i wasnt complaing just saying he would have stopped a lot more than our other defenders did.

Im aware of what you were missing which is why i said dont complain, you should be happy with your effort
