Really? Marvel are a globally respected publishing company, owned by Disney. In what way are they 2nd rate?
Amazing how low standards have dropped in society.
Just pumping out gibberish.
Not an original idea out of any of these conglomerates in decades.

The movie industry used to make new products once upon a time.
Now it for the most part recycles inane drivel.

All comic based movies Batman 1 to 87, every single Marvel movie, Superman, spiderman bleh bleh bleh bleh bleh.
The Batman franchises (multiple) have devolved into unraveling the mental issues which led to the Jokers personality issues.
Not surprise the studio has not named the people who caused the Jokers emotional angst and taken them to court.

A fictional character who was a plot mechanism as a parody of a criminal in a parody of a fictional "hero".
Some people actually believe these fictional characters exist.

They are basically too lazy to create anything to pay for anything anyone else creates which is original...........and know that the general public will pay for the shit they serve up.

Some may consider this sacrilege but if you love footy like I do I think you'll appreciate this. It is never before seen channel 9 colour coverage of the 1973 grand final. Rhett Bartlett (Kev's son) got hold of it from channel 9. It's not colourised it was filmed in colour. There are a number of different camera shots when compared to the channel 7 coverage too. The colour just brings it to life. Some great footy and real champions playing. A bit of thuggery from Balme and Fowler too. I posted it on the Richmond forum and they were appreciative so I thought I'd do the same for any footy nuts like me.

Craig Davis is playing full forward for the Blues! That's our connection.

1. Collingwood (17-4, 126.7 per cent)

R23: Brisbane @ Marvel Stadium
R24: Essendon @ the MCG

Collingwood is assured of the minor premiership, but will still have a keen eye on its opponents. Part of Craig McRae might be hoping that, despite its superiority against almost every side across the year, the club doesn't meet Brisbane in September.

While the Pies are 7-2 against the Demons dating back to 2017, and have won their last three fixtures against the Power, it's the Lions who have long proved a bogey side for McRae and his men.

Nine things we learned: Jack's back, and he's here to stay

Collingwood has now lost its last five games against Brisbane, with four of them in Queensland, while the Pies are also 0-5 in their last five matches at the Gabba. One of them being a semi-final against the Cats in 2020.

The premiership favourites should have back-to-back finals at the MCG, all things being considered. That will be a bonus for Collingwood, who is 11-3 from its last 14 games at the ground.

The Magpies and Cats clash in round 22
But the Pies won't be fearing a trip to the Adelaide Oval, should they lose a qualifying final and be forced to travel there throughout September. They have now won eight straight games in South Australia, dating back to 2018

Don’t like them, don’t watch them.

As an aside, they’ve already paid for the creation of the source material. They paid the writers who wrote the original comics, created the original characters. Offering that source material (decades of it) in a new format clearly isn’t for you, just don’t watch it. Personally, I love it, but I clearly watch them with different expectations than you.

It goes beyond that though, because there is mass saturation of superhero movies. It’s hard to get movies made about anything else.

Not to mention that some of the characters are so ****ing boring. Superman movies for example become a predictable game of “who has the kryptonite?” because he’s so bloody overpowered. At least with Batman it’s a case of “really rich guy who is great at martial arts”.

Really pushing the limits of whats allowable here Domus.
Cartoon lost so it only just scrapes in under "acceptable Schadenfreude" laws

I love that era, I understand there are limits but it has a very evocative feeling watching the topless skinny people in the crowd and seeing every second footy that goes over the fence stolen in a grand final, I love the lace up guernsey too. There is some great footage here. Better than the much seen channel seven coverage. I still can't believe Balme was not knocked unconscious in retaliation for his thuggery by someone in a Carlton jumper.

Trust me-these two clubs have torn my heart out on numerous occasions. I just like good footy and champions from any era.

Imagine spending the time writing this article only to get it so wrong with the very first line.

We aren't assured of the minor premiership yet.

Disagree, lots of good movies being made that aren’t Marvel or DC product.

While this is an interesting discussion, it has no bearing on the suitability of Marvel as a naming rights sponsor of Docklands.

The movie industry has always made a combination of formulaic pulp and more creative new stuff. There's actually a much greater diversity of creative new stuff available than ever before - particularly if you're willing to do subtitles.

But isn’t the whole point of marketing to convince the masses to buy stuff that isn’t good enough to sell itself?

Clearly there are people who buy their merch and watch their product. A couple of posters on BF who don’t like it is hardly indicative that there isn’t or testament to the quality of the product. I think Marvel is the best naming rights sponsor Docklands has ever had.
