Quirky trivia - that game against Collingwood at Marvel was actually our 'home' game which was supposed to be played at Adelaide Oval but was switched to Marvel after some covid shenanigans.

Sits comfortably on the second shelf, only Russell , Jack , Fos , Bob Quinn and maybe one or two older guys I don’t know enough about .

As I get older and grumpier, it becomes more impressive to see sportsmen like Travis who somehow retain their motivation, discipline and mental resilience to keep training and pushing to stay in the best 22 when they could easily hang up the boots and take the easy road. Frikken impressive.

Gun, a super professional and someone that makes you proud to be a Port supporter. The effort he puts into himself to still be running so hard at 350 games is incredible, he's a great role model for professionalism and we know what his preseason camps have done for some of our players. Great captain, dragged us over the line in some big games, especially in that 2013/14 era.

I have faith that the AFL media are ordering Boak’s 349 games like they have done for this no-name young guy that is has only played 49 non-descript games and no one has heard of.

Plenty of those getting around now
would love to see him get to 400 but he'd have to play all of 2024, 2025 and into 2026 to get there and he'll be pushing 38 by then

Perennial powerhouse Geelong came knocking for Boak, a Geelong Falcons under-18 product who grew up at Torquay.
"There was a big decision to make," Boak told reporters on Wednesday.
"And it was one that took a fair bit of time to process all the information – go back home, be close to family and be part of the Geelong footy club, which is a great club and was going well at the time. We weren't going so well.
"But there was just so much here that myself, Robbie (Gray), Jacko (Jackson Trengove) – a lot of players – didn't want to walk away from.
"We were well entrenched in this club to try and move it forward, and that's what we wanted to do.
"In the end that was why I wanted to stay: to help make this club better again and get back up the ladder."

The AFL today congratulated Travis Boak on his career milestone as he plays his 350th game for Port Adelaide against Richmond this Sunday. Boak is the 23rd person to 350 games in the VFL/AFL competition.
Boak was pick five in the 2006 AFL National Draft debuting in Round 12, 2007 vs Essendon.
The former Port Adelaide captain is a three-time All Australian (2013, 2014 and 2020), a two-time Port Adelaide Best and Fairest (2011, 2019) and Brownlow Medallist runner up (2020). Boak is now the 15th person to get to 350 games as a one-club player and the first to do so from a South Australian-based team.
AFL Chief Executive Andrew Dillon congratulated Travis for his achievements both on and off the field as he celebrates his latest milestone.
"It is well known to everyone in football that Travis is a player of the highest quality, but he is also distinguished by his contribution to the Port Adelaide and South Australian community.
"Travis has dedicated years of service to supporting children and their families impacted by cancer through his role as an Ambassador for the Childhood Cancer Association. In 2021, Boak was the proud recipient of the Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award for his outstanding contribution in the community.
"As a multiple All Australian and Best and Fairest winner we're thrilled to be congratulating Travis on this important milestone."

- The only player on current lists that had played in a Grand Final prior to 2009 – was on the losing side in the 2007 GF
- The first player from a South Australian-based team to get to 350 games. Leaves Queensland as the only state to achieve the feat (Simon Black – 322 games is the most for QLD based teams)
- Has played 3 games outside Australia (all in China). Polled 8 of a possible 9 Brownlow votes in those games
- In 31 of his games, he was the youngest player in the Port Adelaide side. In 33 games, he has been the oldest
- 215 people have played at least one game for Port, 147 of the other 214 have played at least one game alongside Travis Boak

The years after that devastating and humiliating 2007 Grand Final loss took our beloved PAFC on a journey to our lowest ebb since our establishment in 1870. And in July 2012 Geelong sent it's top four fire sale negotiators - coach Chris Scott, list boss Stephen Wells, captain Joel Selwood and Brownlow medallist Jimmy Bartel - to Adelaide to do what they thought would be an easy task. To take former Geelong lad Travis Boak from the basket case that was Port Adelaide back to Kardinia Park.
So confident was Geelong of getting their man that they had informed the Adelaide press of their mission and photographers wwere waiting for the Geelong posse's arrival at Adelaide Airport.
But they returned to Geelong with their arrogant asses handed to them. Travis bloody Boak - our best and fairest player from the previous year - told them to feck off (in that polite smiling Boaky way of course)
It was that act of loyalty that convinced me and other Port supporters that all was not doomed with our footy club, despite what the AFL. the SANFL and the Adelaide Advertiser was shouting from the roof tops.
And since that day Trav has always made our club and our supporters his priority. Always the last to leave at family and kids days, his hand surely cramping from signing so many jumpers. Always smiling, never whining, when mixing with fans on Captains runs across the country. And always front and centre on the Indigenous and Community events held across SA and the NT.
His bravery and commitment on field is never in doubt. Doing the best he can to keep his body up to the rigours of AFL standard as it ages. And always willing to be the mentor for younger and less experienced players to guide them through their AFL journey. He will never take public credit for it, but the rise and rise of Sam Powell Pepper after some troubling early days to being our toughest and most fearless on field warrior would not have happened if not for Travis Boak.
I'm sure there would be many other tales like that we don't know about.
Authentic, genuine, compassionate, humble, courageous and always putting others and our Footy Club before himself. The embodiment of what we expect a Port Adelaide leader to be.

Great achievement, hopefully he gets to 400, whilst not a superstar of the highest order, he’s been great and what an achievement, anyone got the top 23 list?
No matter what you think about his football abilities he has always given his best and comes across as a very genuine person that really cares.
Be good if the club could keep him on after his playing days in some sort of role.
