Sydney have now lost their last four Grand Finals, in 2014, 2016, 2022 and 2024. This is not their worst effort though, losing five consecutive playoffs in 1934, 1935, 1936, 1945 and 1996. They are 2-10 in Grand Finals since 1934 (they did win in 1933 though).

Collingwood famously lost eight deciders and drew one between their 1958 and 1990 flags.

Geelong lost five in a row, defeated in 1967, 1989, 1992, 1994 and 1995.

Richmond also lost five in a row in an eight year span, in 1924, 1927-28-29 (all to Collingwood) and 1931.

The Saints have a current streak of four, plus one drawn grand final to add to the heartache (1971, 1997, 2009, 2010).

Can anyone provide stats for WAFL, SANFL and other leagues?

Oh this is gonna be interesting

In the WAFL, East Perth lost 7 grandys in a row between their 1959 and 1972 triumphs.
Subiaco lost 6 between 1924 and 73 and Perth 6 between 1907 and 55.
South Fremantle lost 5 between 1917 and 47.

Just to be there means a dynasty is possible.

I remember another team who lost consecutive GFs.

In 1986 Hawthorn recent record was:
1985 Lost GF
1984 Lost GF
1983 Premiership
1982 Lost prelim
1981 missed finals (13:9 win loss and 109%]

6 years later it was considered one of the of the greatest dynasties ever. 8 GFs in 9 years for 5 Premierships.
