Josh Lindsay put himself firmly on the radar for 2025 with his BOG performance in the under 17 futures game on grand final day. A dashing defender with a classy and creative left foot, in this game he shows his ability to read the play and take intercept marks. He also managed to win a few clearances at stoppage, perhaps hinting at a potential future move into the midfield.

100% a primary target along with Cody Curtin with Hawks 1R or hopefully our 2R. Exactly what we need out of defence.

Chesser was always a slow burn developing. Hopefully he his body has hardened up after getting continuity playing and racking up games and he is past the injury setbacks from u18s and the first couple of seasons.

He is slowly building his body and confidence. The excitement of a new more attacking game plan suits him and his attributes.
His body isnt the issue. Being shit is the issue

How does any player get lots of the ball playing the defensive wing role in the old game plan?

Running into the square to pick up the main mid so Harley or Kelly can run off and attack.

Give the kid the opportunity to accumulate and maybe he will.
I think you would be less protective of Chesser if you saw him play live.

I dont think Im being protective of Chesser. Just want the kid to be given a role and opportunity to grow his confidence and impact.

Has he really been given a high production role?

Or the dead wing to defend?

He has had chances but struggles to know where to be. I defended posters that called him soft as he us not - he does hesitate too many times and then goes in hard but the moment of hesitation often means it becomes a stoppage.

He was given the inside midfield role late last year at WAFL and yet failed to get his hands on it

I know nothing about Brock other than (i) its unclear if he's a genuine KPP (possible but also questionable), (ii) its unclear if he's remotely ready for AFL football (appears not based on photos), (iii) its unclear if he's shown that much at VFL level (delisted by Suns and wasnt well known); (iv) he wasnt a highly rated junior.

He just seems a slightly odd option for us - unless we just always rated him as a junior? I'm not writing him off but just not sure what boxes he's ticking?

The box for KP defenders close to 200cm. :whitecheck:

Where the cupboard is looking a tad bare. And very inexperienced.

Just need to keep sifting through the options until we find the next Gov or Barrass.

Copped an injury a couple of times he played in the middle for the BEagles, from memory.

Had like 16 to HT in one game, then copped one on the schnoz that kept bleeding, before going off concussed, I think.

Similar issue the other game.

Yeah agreed. I would just prefer us to take someone who is 23 or so has shown at least potential in VFL/WAFL. Somone like Blight who the Tigers got a year or so ago (ironically who we tried to get back this year).

At times he was.
Did that perceived immaturity deny him premiership victories, the answer is obviously no.
The game between Port and the Hawks last year was the best game of footy I watched for the year.
Sam Mitchell has some serious footy IQ and some serious coaching ability, they will be a serious football team for a while to come yet.

That could be literally anyone.

I did email the club,

Nothing back as expected. Obviously they cant give a good answer as to why Brisbane Lions get 20 mill more then us per year while we pay 5% extra for our memberships....
Looks like the only answer is to vote with your feet. Hand in your Eagles membership and sign up with Brisbane.

You'll be a loss to this board, but briztoon will enjoy the company over on the Lions board.
