Very depleted team going up. Hope they go well but it is a long way short of the leagues best players. The Rennie boys selected decided to go roo shooting instead if that gives you an insight into how keen most were to front up on the week off. Not making excuses already but the team will be up against it i imagine.
yer no good mate...northern is in the same boat, their will b 10 or so of the best 22 the rest jst cant b botherd, will hav a few bak from the team that beat central west...should b a good day

How many Rennie guys would have made the team anyway?
Here is the team, and I must say it is one that I expect to go quite well, not knowing anything about the Northern Riverina league.
Also take into account this is the last time the CDFL jumper will be seen in action, so the boys should be keen as mustard to do it proud.

How many Rennie Boys?
Damon Ferguson would have been stiff in not making it (unless he preferred roo shooting). Jack Florence and the 2 Rhodes boys (Mick & Duane) wouldn't be out of place in that CDFL team either.
Re the possible collapse of the merger with the Picola League Clubs, that would be a great shame if the Crows were able to bugger it for the other teams. They have some good blokes there but one of reasons other clubs and leagues have looked down upon the CDFL in recent years (not to mention why some clubs have wanted to go to other leagues) is because the performance of the Crows as a club (on and off the field) has been able to drag down the league to their not so lofty level. The Crows are delusional if they think they can go across to the Hume League.

The Coreen and District league has proven that despite being on its last legs at club level the top end of the competition is still strong with a stunning 38-point win over Northern Riverina at Wagga on Saturday.
CDFL won after trailling by 43 points at quarter time having kicked into a howling gale!

The under 17s lost by 19 points after trailing by 62 at three quarter time.
Interleague - Review - The Border Mail
Coreen and District fought back from a nightmare opening quarter to crush Northern Riverina by 38 points in their interleague showndown at Maher Oval on Saturday.
Coreen conceded the opening seven goals as Northern Riverina won the toss and kicked with a strong breeze.
Their quest to bow out of representative football as winners looked in grave doubt.
But Steve Grantham's charges refused to panic and it was just a matter of time before they took control.
"It didn't look great at quarter time, but the wind was very strong and the boys just had to keep their belief," he said.
"We got it back to a couple of goals at half time and I thought we won it in the third when we held them to one goal.
"Thats was where we won it.
"It's just fantastic week being involved with the Coreen league team and I can't speak highly enough of how everyone has gone about it."
Experienced campaigners Mark House, Shane Pound, Andrew McGowan and Jarrod Hanrahan thirved in the tricky conditions, while youngsters Josh Bryce, Chris Marshall and Graham O'Connell also made strong contributions around the flanks.
Northern Riverina coach Steve Henley looked like being a matchwinner in the opening 15 minutes before Coreen veteran Scott Franciswas moved to full back and held him goalless for the rest of the match.
Wahgunyah coach Ray Robins kicked five goals for the victors.
"We took a really good, enthusiastic team to Wagga and everyone wanted to be part of it." Grantham said.
"At halftime we spoke about putting in a big third quarter against the breeze and the boys really came out and gave it everything.
"It was a good day for the league."
Meanwhile, the Northern Riverina opened the day with a 19 point win against Coreen in the under 17's.

I think you mean Owen Conroy aka Tom
Owen Conroy is a GUN backman he was one of the best in the league.
Last I heard he went to the GRFL somewhere to chase the big dollars!
The only conroy cleared out there is a tony though??? playing for moulamein

Why would there be?
Gun is certainly a word I wouldn't use about Conroy. He was only an okay player in an ordinary team as Hopefield-Buraja struggled before going into recess.
Has he played a senior match since? Not to my recollection.

Tom is a GUN senior backman in a top four side in a better league then the CDFL. Sounds like you have some deep down personnel grudge against him. Maybe he teased you at school or something.

Either way, there's no grudges. I just haven't seen him play much good footy. Admittedly I haven't seen him play for a few years and I can only make a judgement on what I've seen. Perhaps he has improved on field, I don't know. Where are you playing, Tom?
Well how about you blokes stop sookin and bitchin about Tom Conroy, because we have a very exciting year unfolding. With Colly losing two games and wahgunyah knocking them off on the week end has realy set it up, and did we all start to overate Jerilderie with a couple of wins or have the Crows just stepped up to bar of the other top four sides.

It's fantastic to have a season where five teams are in genuine contention for the premiership.
I'm certainly not ruling out Jerilderie, nor are we overratings them.
Billabong Crows have now beaten them twice and obviously match up well against the Demons, who in turn seem to match up well against the Saints and Tigers.
It appears almost any of the five can beat anybody else, and it could come down to injuries and hunger on the day.
If Jerilderie and Billabong get a few injuries they will struggle more than most.
You would think Coly would be in the same boat, but regardless of how their seconds are travelling they always seem to be able to pull one or two up who can do a good job in the seniors.
I picked Wahgunyah to make the grand final and they are still a big chance to do that, especially with their depth, however until Saturday they had been disappointing and I thought I had overrated them.
The Saints have had a rough trot with injury and appear to be coming out the other side without too much damage - only the loss to Jerilderie when they were caught by underestimating their opponent and the effect their injuries had.
Their depth is similar to the Tigers and they have more stars so I can see no reason to jump off just yet.
Pre-season prediction: CDHBU, Wahgunyah, Coleambally, Billabong Crows, Jerilderie, Rennie.

A sensational performance from Jerilderie, who not only beat Coleambally, but thumped them senseless by 88 points at Jerilderie.
The Demons kicked nine goals to one in the first quarter, held firm in the middle two terms and finished brilliantly with another six to one to win 19.11 125 to 5.7 37 and add more evidence to the argument that they are the real deal.
Stuart Way kicked five goals for the Demons, while experienced captain Michael Pitt was best on ground and recruit Damian Price played well.
The Blues' Glenn Eddie and Damian Mannes held up their end of the bargain but had not enough support with several key players out.

CDHBU moved to the top of a congested ladder with a comfortable 39 point win over Wahgunyah at Wahgunyah.
There was only eight points the difference at quarter and half time but the Saints had too much poise when it mattered, kicking five goals to one in the third quarter to seal the deal.
They added six to five in a high standard last quarter to win 18.15 123 to 13.6 84, with Doug Lavis kicking six goals and Danny Dal Tio and Troy Habermann four each, while Mark House and Charlie Cay were best.
Ray Robins kicked five for the Tigers and Liam Tobias and Matt Rogers were the key players.
A huge congratulations to Daysdale's 1994 premiership player Malcolm Smith on his 200th senior match for Wahgunyah.

Billabong Crows thrashed Rennie by 116 points in the other match.
The Crows dominated from start to finish and only bad kicking stopped them from winning by more than the 24.22 166 to 8.2 50 scoreline.
Danny Kirchen and Ben Slattery kicked seven goals each for the Crows, while Tyral Dalitz added four and Alistair Austin also starred.
Rennie's best player Josh Lewis was at the top of the list again with three goals, while Clint Henderson also played well.
