So of the 17 new cases, 12 were from people who haven't recently been overseas.
Sounds like we are into the community spreading phase :(

I’m shocked

I don't pretend to have much knowledge in economics but I do know the current govt when in opposition were vehemently opposed to the policies that kept us out of recession/depression, although they do seem to be starting to realize shit is a whole lot different when you are the ones having to make the decisions.

The small government, debt allergic right only ever exists when in opposition.

And everyone is a progressive when it's a national emergency.

Because it's Richmond v Carlton? When was the last time we had a good match between those two sides, 1984?

2013 elimination final had the 9th placed Carlton beat 5th placed Richmond. Was funny as f*** and also the last time Carlton beat Richmond.

I saw a video of an aussie ex-pat in Beijing sharing his experiences (and the fact the worst is over there). One poignant thing he said is that the most meaningful stat to monitor is how many people are in ICU. Testing is being ramped up, so the increase in the number of confirmed cases is not reliable trend. It's the ICU admissions that are key - the whole point is to keep that manageable.
Yeah confirmed cases don’t mean much when such a high proportion is asymptomatic or mildly so.

Apparently the virus dies at 56 degrees Celsius.

Blow a hair dryer into your nose/sinuses for five minutes at a time twice an hour and you could kill it off.

Take one for the team, try this for us and let you know how you go

It was always going to end. And when you compare the number of cases and deaths to the total population - it's almost an insignificant amount.

The question is how we (WA, Australia and the world) approach to flattening the curve. People will die - unfortunately - the key is what we can do that is reasonable to minimise it. Draconian measures like a complete 45 day lockdown where there is no movement of people at all would stop it in its tracks - but at what cost? Up to the politicians and experts to determine the level of acceptable loss for both human lives and the economy - it's not an easy decision.
A complete 45 day lockdown is unviable. Hence why we can't do it. A week would be a struggle (and useless due to the incubation period). Think of the number of people required to get pasta or toilet paper on the shelves (let alone supermarket workers). Logistics, packaging, ingredients, maintenance. No food and lockdown would fail.

Those were the days.

We can trace the decline in civilisation to the point at which Richmond stopped becoming a basketcase.

We can all take a deep breath, Bill Gates and ..pals..are onto it

In a 2019 Netflix documentary, billionaire Bill Gates predicted a killer virus could originate in China's wet markets to rapidly infect the world

like shooting fish in a barrel Quinz

And as an aded bonus, with the gates funded

The program to leverage immunization as an opportunity to establish digital identity was unveiled by ID2020 in partnership with the Bangladesh Government’s Access to Information (a2i) Program,

We are all Bangladesh now (give or take a month)
