Yes, LNP is bad at everything. Comrade Andrews has been excellent on both the bushfires and CV19 and never put a foot wrong. How did I miss that!

Uuuuuummm where in my post did I say that???????????????

Amazing hypocrisy coming from the bloke who pleaded for people not to politise this forum.

Nah, Comrade Andrews billion dollars from the scrapped East West link wOuld have been handy right now. Same as the billions wasted on pie in the sky stupid green energy policies.

We have a real and present danger right now. Not a fake one.

Ha, are we really getting into climate change denialism?

The Murris in Mount Isa definitely not getting the message even though they are extremely high risk and have negligible hygiene care or look after themselves health wise. Two minute noodles, spray can sniffing and alcohol from the minute they wake up until they flop wherever they happen to be. Even though many of them terrorise they town with crime, violence and vandalism I wouldn’t want to see them wiped out. Time for a couple of the 50 plus aboriginal agencies in town to start earning their money.

Who knows. I'm not a virus expert or a doctor.

Lots more mistakes and issues to come from all sides.

what do you mean who know's?

its pretty damn clear cut!!!!! even the NSW health minister responsible for the decision has admitted to it being a massive mistake.

Think you need to take your political rants to an Andrew Bolt or Alan Jones forum.....would fit right in.

Do you not see the issue of doing it later rather than sooner if we're going to have to do it anyway?

I know if no-one in Wodonga has it , they achieve absolutely nothing by isolating themselves from each other in Wodonga .
We took action early this week.
Before even seeing if it had an effect you want to do something else.

That's reactive bullshit.

I agree the East West link shouldn't have been scrapped, but even more billions would have been spent had that project continued lol. Those extra billions that were saved as a result of the cancellation get to be used to fight the coronavirus. Surely, now you'd agree the Andrews Government hit it out of the park with that decision!

Whilst there is a case from a minesite 200km away, there is so far none recorded at Mount Isa.

Therefore we should all eat 2 minute noodles, and sniff spray cans to keep the virus at bay.

( they are probably not high risk unless someone who actually has the virus goes there and infects them ).

With asymptomatic carriers, people can have it without realising they have it.

I'm saying we should look at what's happened elsewhere and learn from their mistakes

regional lock down has been put in place. stopping people from going from perth to other places. they're worried about people going to holiday homes over the break.

I was hoping to do that in Victoria. I hope they don't do that here. I'm completely remote and don't have to see another person unless I want to. I can see the logic but it's a bit depressing. I want to hide away from the world and drink so much no virus can survive in my body. My kids are going to drive me nuts if I'm home any longer....today was my first half day at home. Already on my second beer, by Tuesday I'll be starting at 10 am.

Sorry StCicatriz , i was just posting a stupid thing purposely using dumbass reverse logic.
My main point was that social isolation isn't so important if no-one there actually has the virus.
Still time to get them on track i guess.

With the cruise ship disaster and a large amount of people still returning from overseas, the numbers will keep going next week but that doesnt mean our measures aren't working in slowing the spread of the virus within the general community.
I get the feeling they are working. Or at least the per-emptive stuff businesses are doing. If it wasn't I'd reckon we would be seeing 100s by now.

I'm on my 4th....i think.

The rules are probably for the morons who would go to some relatively isolated little place and infect the locals whilst clearing out all their toilet roll..

I'm lucky my wife left me , though i don't know how long i can sustain the high level of drinking.

It's done in Vic along the north border.

Spoke to a guy in Rochester (central, north) stated he was restricted from leaving to Echuca (central, north-er) unless on official business. Largely depends if there is a case in the area, and there was one in Echuca.

Similarly, I have family in Barham (NSW side, Murray River, central) old man was born Koondrook (Vic side), there is a single bridge connecting these two cities, many in Koondrook work in Barham. They've closed the bridge. If you are a healthcare worker, you need to flash your credentials and then you are being let across, if you are not, you need a bloody good reason, or you are not getting across, and it is policed.

At least when it started, if you took your boat out on said murray, you could literally sit on that boat and dock on the NSW side. Not sure current policing efforts of that.

The lack of traffic on the roads means heading heading to and from work is taking half the time now.

I did hear on the radio there's been a 20 percent increase on people calling lifeline. They cannot afford a lockdown. The damage it will do will make the virus death toll look like a picnic.

This will probably be lost in the talk of coronavirus but can’t be ignored. There will be a massive increase in people needing these services as a result of job loss or just dealing with the drama of everything that’s going on at the moment.
In addition, my psychologist has said she is no longer doing face to face consultations. I imagine that will be common across the profession and will result in people not getting the help they need.
Id urge everyone to check in with anyone they know of who might be vulnerable or is isolated at the moment. Even a text or email could make a difference.

Its bloody stupid and bureaucrats misrepresenting the intent i think.

Most of the virus is in the middle of melbourne, so split small country communities apart.

To me , the intent , is to stop long distance travel , spreading it from community to community.
Those places probably have businesses where you can only get certain goods on the other side.
