They have made a GF with a young list, which is far more than our club achieved over a two year period of near total dominance.

Ok so cousins missed 25 minutes to football and brogan and wilson missed 20 minutes to football....so whats the difference?
That's the kind of overly simplistic analogy I expected to hear.
The difference is that the quality of the opposition. North were terrible on Saturday whereas in a close game as an away team it might have been the difference between victory and defeat. Its like saying that the effect of your side would be no different if your number 1 player was missing in a game against Geelong in comparision to a game against Richmond.
Also too midfielders are rotated far more than half back flank players.

No one remembers who comes second or third or fourth or even last. Everyone remember who comes first and if Port Adelaide lose the GF on Saturday they have achieved exactly the same as we have over the last 3 year. Sweet **** all.
Are Geelong fans proud of the fact they lost 4 GF in 7 year in the last 80s and early 90s? NO and if they win on Saturday they will have achieved more in one year than they have in the last 43.
Premiership success is the only thing that counts and success is only remember by winning the ****ing thing.

All clubs in the AFL are Corporate Franchises...Port Power like to pretend they are a club, but the AFL (or Eddie) decides what guernsey they wear and where they play there games...Clubs are in the SANFL VFL WAFL etc not AFL. The AFL is a franchise system...The 16 franchises are dictated to by the AFL Commission...
Port have told us since 1870 Port, the club till 1996, 1997 onwards the Franchise, that success is measured in PREMIERSHIPS..."We exist to win Premierships", well Adelaide is the Most successfull AFL club in SA pure and simple IF they win this week they are EQUAL to us...nothing more nothing less...and it took them longer in their AFL history to achieve what we have achieved....

I understand your point, but as far as I'm concerned, making a GF>>>>not making a GF, especially when you consider the youth in that team.
One thing Port have achieved that we haven't, is respect. Respect for their coach, respect for their game style, and respect for their ability to win games when they really shouldn't.

Once again you are lying TP. I never said Port are favourites, I said a lot of people I have spoken to are favourites. I for one think Port have the form going in and are slight favourites. Anything less than a flag is a choke in my book.

Cant knock Ports recruiting and development of there list, the AFC have gone about it the wrong way, and now we are losing young players (Meeson) through lack of development and opportunities, the AFC havent been agressive at the trading table, we wasted time and picks for Carey and a quick fix premiership which was never delivered, we wasted 05 and 06
Port did the opposite I mean be honest here how many had a sly lil giggle to themselves when Port got Rodan?? I know I did, yet he has done some amazing things this year and now would be a walk up start in Ports starting 22.
Yet the AFC avoid any player that may look 'odd' or have a bit of a past at another club
