I made no link to ball-handling and eras.

Throwing a ball backwards and handballing, marking, bouncing, tapping-on, hit-outs of the Sherrin are completely different sets of skills.

You people think that you need brains to play AFL , give me a break I have never seen a set play of any sort other than some basic tap down from a ruck man which is so basic and really a 50/50 play. Not to mention any thought is required to get through the defence. It's like comparing touch footy to tackle, boys to men.

a) why has no rugby league player in the history of the NSWRL/SuperLeague/NRL successfully switched codes to play in the VFL/AFL ?

He may be pathetic, but LRT converted from some Rugby code at a late age. Plus there are a few Irish guys who have made the transition also.
