Could Lance Franklin end up with the 2nd most amount of finals goals of all-time?

Is 25 and currently sits in 30th place for all time finals goals with 38 goals from 10 finals. He is only 40 goals off Dunstall who has 78 goals and is second on the all time list. Buddy's finals goals per game average is better than anyone on that list bar four players. Royce Hart, Ron Todd, Peter McKenna and Gary Ablett. He could realistically play until he is 32 and even if he only plays in another 10 finals from now, he would be in 2nd place for all-time finals goals if he maintains his current average of 3.8. Does anyone think he will end up with the 2nd most amount of finals goals ever? Would be a remarkable achievement in the modern game and considering he isn't a traditional FF like so many on this list! Gonna be fun to watch him try and do it

True, but it is fun watching guys mow down records. Franklin has probably given off more than these other guys as well, as he led the league for goal assist average for players who played over 11 games this year!

I for one like stats and will enjoy watching him give it a shake!

He will only need to play 10 more finals if he maintains his current average. Assuming he plays 2 more of them this year, that's another 8 finals in around 6 to 8 years of football he needs and he is there

The reason I started this thread, is because he is better than even money to do it IMO.

I can't see Buddy playing much beyond 30. Too many "distractions" for him I think. So no, he won't make it.

If anybody can do it, Buddy can. He's 25 now, so perhaps will athleticism will deteriorate at 27-28.

Hawks will be a good side for another 2-3 years, but who knows after that?

Very insightful, if he plays in or around 21 finals he has every chance.. stating the obvious there a bit, my guess he will finish with 16-18 finals played.
