Actually considering Somerset had Botham; Viv Richards and Joel Garner (amongst others) in their ranks in the 1980's, it is staggering that they didn't win one.

Yep.

I've got Botham's autobiography and he writes that once Peter Roebuck was given the captaincy, he immediately instigated to have Viv and Joel sacked which the Somerset committee backed him in.

Roebuck was certainly an interesting character.......
