why do you care so much, scared your going to get toweled up in round one id say

geez what a knob you are

Yeah, im crapping my pants ......................

I may be a knob but that doesn't mean im wrong ..........

And why do I care ??? Becuase the guy has had SOOOO many chances, and has blown them all. Drugs, hanging around with underworld figures, drugs, running from a booze bus to avoid the police, overdoses in America when he is supposed to be at rehab .............. His antics pretty much brought the WCE to its knees (they are LUCKY that they wern't slapped with massive penalties after the AFL enquiary triggered at least in by Cousin's actions) and what do the WCE supporters do ??? Place him on a pedastool, beg the Eagles to let him back into the club and shoot down anyone who dares say a negative thing about him.

And he hasn't been AT ALL repentant during ANY of this crap .............. He feeds on the spotlight and notoriety, and goes out of his way to attract it (I love the Youtube vid he brought out about David Wirrpanda being a cause of his "fall from grace" whilke Nixon was asking for some privacy) and he thumbs his nose at authority every chance he gets.

He is a typical druggie and deserves noones respect. Respect must be earnt and simply being able to kick a football isn't enough ..............

Yeah Id have to agree with you on the way in which cousins has presented himself even before the start of the season. Looking back last season you could tell he was off the rails a bit with the media on his back for so long about his problems. However he has made it back into the game and is looking as promising as ever in black and blue this year and I wish him all the best, what a fantastic footballer. If he could match the skills and intensity 2 years ago against geelong when he hit nearly every target in the centre he should be nominated for a brownlow. But really it all comes down to pride in performance and if hes got that then he is a sure success and a real asset to his team.

When you have been told by the AFL that it is YOUR OBLIGATION to maintain hair long enough for hair drug testing (3 cm+) and you go out and get a crew cut then you are obviously doing nothing more than showing contempt for the rules set to re-enter the compitition .............. And it's not like it's the first time he has done it either .......... (Common, a full back, sack and crack + crew cut when you are due to provide a hair sample for drug testing ??? what a load of crap !!!!!!!) The guy is either supremely arrogant, hiding something or both.

Now lets see the AFL show some balls and pull him up for a hair folicle drug test !!!!!!! He is going to keep it up until he is called up on it.

Now the ferals will come out and say "give the guy a break, he can wear his hair how ever he wants". Show me some pics of him with a crew cut at the Eagles and ill shut my mouth ............[/quote]

The sample doesn't have to be from your head, twittle twat. It can be from your pubs or under your arms.. So shut your mouth anyway.

Well that's even worse, because I reckon most Footy players shave in both of those areas.

I wouldnt definitely have to disagree with you mark. Ben is an absolute star of a footy player and so what if he likes to have a good time every now and again. He knows his limits and thats what still makes him a good footballer. If he was stupid hed have ended up in hospital or dead. As long as he can kick a footy ben should be able to do whatever he likes recreationally, whether its legal or not. I mean its not like we havent tried anything illegal before. Give the guy a break..

black and blue?

Clearly a mistake. Havent even heard of a black and blue team before. hahah what an amateur mistake. Even so I just like to say that cousins may be a bit "out there", but its that extreme nature that makes him one of the best. And i stand by him.

oh yeah cos that makes sense. u r spot on about pride in performance tho osin, its whats its all about. if we stick to the parameters of our gameplan we will be succesful

east perth?

Yeah Well its tough to say exactly how well he will do in this new team/family environment. The players do need time to "gel" as a team but im sure cousins will be the leader in pushing the team forward and working as a "whole". If the team lets you into their family you know they are going to be trusted by each and everyone of their teammates. So unfortunately if Ben happens to have another incident with the cops about drugs or the like his family will lose respect and ultimately be kicked out of the club which is definitely what I dont want to see.

I don't care much if Cousins does well, or not both on or off field, I'm honest when I say that unlike a lot of the fake caring going on here and elsewhere.

So he was out of the game since the end of 2007, so what, it was entirely his own doing.

More important is the return of a guy like Polak, now he deserves attention and praise if he makes it back to playing AFL footy, way more deserving of praise that Cousins who deserves little praise.

Guys like Trent Hentschel from the Crows too, Trent being out of the game since 2006, looks like so far that he will make his return to AFL footy this season after his horrific knee and leg injury, but I doubt there will anywhere as much reporting on that compared to a druggo like cousins, and I doubt there will be anywhere near as much reporting on Polak either.

You clearly didn't see his press conference on draft day:rolleyes:

As for going out of the way to attract the spotlight, he's just sticking to his footy - you don't have to read every story about him every day - how does he stop them being written?

And he refused Cleo's nomination of Bachelor of the Year... maybe Fev will get a gig, who is a true model citizen.:D:D

Just trying to make a point that it's only Feb and people should settle down. I hope Cousin's makes a come back it would be a great storey and love to see people who turn things around in life.

Pies had a run the other day as other clubs have but the hype surrounding a bloke who has not played a decent game of AFL for a couple years is amazing. How many Tigers fans put undue pressure on Tambling when he first started now Cousin's. It's time to re-direct this pressure onto the coach and let the players concentrate solely on there footy.

Did Terry's strong push to get Cousin's have another purpose? Smoke screen maybe.

no, thats a red herring; the one thing you can say about the Cousins deal is that is was pretty transparent in the end: it took a bit of courage, just made sense at that point in time. I do agree that the cousins hype (1 preseason intra club game ffs!!) is completely over the top: I chalk it down as everyones bored and waiting for the season to start. I dont expect him to do any good until the second half of the year, and that assumes he doesnt get an injury as his body re-adjsusts to the (real) game.

Hype and exitement = more members. You have a quite a few more that could jump on that little yellow wagon.

I think whenever Cousins is fit he will be an very very good player, round 1 included. They key is management for the soft tissue injuries. 50-60% game time early in the season should be on the cards.

The man is a ripped specimen.

'Specimen', well, that looks right.

I reckon the guy chasing is much more the athlete, probably sticks to Weet Bix. (Apologies, I don't know who he is ... ) :)

now you just sound like a gibbering idiot.

Sky News last night said he struggled to keep up and they interviewed a fan who said he didn't look right. I guess people take what they want out of these things according to motive and expectation.

I was standing on the wing near were he got m ost of his possesions and even though he looked a bit out of touch in the 1st qtr still getting about 8 or so possesions in the 2nd he seemed to pick up the pace and definetly didnt struggle to keep up.

Its only Feb and he has plenty of time to build his fitness up before the proper season begins but it was heartening to see he hasnt lost any of his footballing skills and he will make a real difference to our midfield this year.

I felt that without him we had the maturity and depth now to finish at least 6th this year, having him in the side makes this a certianty and when we get to the finals a fit cousins will make a big difference to the side.
