I will ask you again " Do you disagree with your CEO in regards to his comments about Ben being stupid in going out" ??????????

I don't know what Nisbett said, as I've heard conflicting reports.

But if you're talking about where he supposedly said "it was silly".

Silly perhaps in the way that once idiots like yourself got wind of it, you'd make a mountain out of a molehill, I suppose.

Now do you maintain that you haven't insulted Ben, and actually feel sorry for him?

Re: Ben Cousins in Trouble Again.

The monday night in Perth was the Nocturnal Ball for the liquor industry (public can still attend)

i saw him that night and (having had a few) asked if i could have a photo but he politely declined and left. I didn't see him drinking (or that fur coat he was suposedly wearing ) and he seemed completely fine.

In saying that though probably not the brightest place for him to go.

Re: Ben Cousins in the news for the wrong reasons (again)

So you agree. Stop defending him for being out....stop blaming others for raising the issues.......Start saying stay out of the public eye Ben.....
Cousins being out past bed-time is not a big deal.

Why do you think it is?

Re: Ben Cousins in the news for the wrong reasons (again)

I had a mate at the nocturnal ball, who reckons he was off his friggin tree..

There is little doubt he was, an if it was pills, then they are well out of his system by now!

Friday, saturday & monday nights out until early morning, yep, sounds to me like someone who's dedicated to getting his footballing career back on track.

Admit it gunnar, he'll never change, his football will always come second to his social life.

Footballers, and sportsmen in general, need to realise that they are no longer just "regular guys". They live a very privelaged life and get paid a crap load of money to play sport. That's a dream job. If they don't like it and want to do whatever they want, they can quit and do something else.

Cousins is a moron.

"Moron" is a little harsh, the guys has been doing countless drugs for God knows how long, and hasn't been officially caught. He has only been home for a few weeks and has been out on the town quite a few times, but the best the journos (who would love nothing more than to report him failing) can come up with is that he was out till the late hours on 'Red Bulls' he knows what he is doing!

Re: Ben Cousins in the news for the wrong reasons (again)

Hands up anyone who went out to a night club when they are NOT playing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did he break the law ?
Fremantle went out and we know what happened the other night .
Collingwood players have come unstuck re after hours clubs .

What AFL club had a private investigator watching their OWN player/s and then deny it ?
What 1 main coach and an assistant coach dont talk to each other ?
( have they made up yet , if not why not ? )
How many clubs have had AFL players on charges or been charged for fighting , drunk and disordely , hitting females , etc etc .
How many clubs or the AFL have come out and named the players and or clubs whose players have been caught with illegal drugs in their system ?

IN OTHER WORDS GET OFF COUSINS BACK , LOOK AT YOUR OWN CLUB/S AND TELL THE AFL TO LEAVE BEN ALONE OR NAME ALL THE OTHER AFL PLAYERS THAT HAVE BEEN CAUGHT DOING ILLEGAL THINGS AND THAT INCLUDES THE SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES OR ALLEGED ONES.

Very well said mate It is good to see other supporters have there general view an a fair one at that.:thumbsu:

Haven't followed this story (or this thread) all that closely this week, but did I hear right that as part of his rehab he was encouraged to expose himself to these sort of social settings?

As a D&A counsellor, I would think that at this stage of his recovery that sounds like some highly questionable advice.
Is definitely strange advice to give a recovering addict but i think Cousin's is really just a drug pig and not an addict. There's no way an addict could sustain Cousin's level of play.

The health/addiction angle was concocted IMO to gloss over the fact that he's really just a self-absorbed, spoilt little child.

He's allowed a life.
He's not the only one.
His accusers should stand up and be tested themselves.
The media are allowed to write what they want,
The law is all we've got. Let it run its course.
They can't test for everything.
If you bet on sport, let the buyer beware.

Bingo, you got it in one. :thumbsu:

Dunno about 'drug pig' but fairly typical 'party-boy' would be about right.

The health/addiction/rehab thing was a fairly successful ploy, albeit short-term, to get him away from the Eagles team and media scrutiny. How it pans out long term is yet to be seen.
