I don't think it's been mentioned that Orgy did a pretty ripping industrial metal cover of New Order's seminal Blue Monday.

I like Anthrax's cover of Trust's Antisocial, but admittedly I haven't heard the original.

This isn't strictly a cover since he wrote the original in the first place, but I do prefer Bowie's slick mainstream rendition of China Girl over Iggy's paranoiac, inaccessible, muddy version.

Not sure it counts as a cover but i prefer Michale Graves acoustic version of "dig up her bones" and "Crying on a saturday night' over the actual Misfits versions.
