India A cleared of ball-tampering, no further action

Nathan McSweeney underlines his Test credentials with a fine audition against India A, hitting the winning runs in a seven-wicket victory, as the tourists are cleared of ball-tampering after it initially appeared umpires accused them of causing scratches on it.

So Konstas 0+16, Harris 17+36 and Bancroft 0+16 = 85 which is less than McSweeney's 88 n.o. in the second innings.

Reckon he will still have to make a ton in the next Oz A, or shield game he plays, to get in the national team.

Next Oz A v India A game starts on 7th ie Thursday and is played at the MCG.

Rd 4 of shield games are played over 14th to 18th November and starting on 14th is SA v NSW at Karen Rolton Oval, McSweeny v Konstas clash there, then on 15th Vic v WA at the Junction Oval so Harris and Bancroft clash there, and Qld v Tas at Allan Border Field.

Wouldn't surprise me if Konstas beats up the SA attack again, like he did in Rd 1 of shield games this year Cricket Central oval at Sydney Olympic Park. And then he goes into favouritism again.

Surprise surprise - India being found guilty of ball tampering is about as likely as Patrick Cripps being suspended 🥴.
 
Greg Chappell has always said his Test cricket debut was easy compared to years of playing backyard tests against Ian, who was 5 years older than him, and never let Greg be Australia.

I ended up being more of a bowler than a batsman - I had an older brother too.

Geez what a great win... could the deadbacks be back in winning form?

Next up is NSW again... let's hope we have learnt from the last game against them and notch up another win!

I think I saw that the Shield match against NSW will be on Karen Rolton Oval, so I'd be expecting another road like the match at Cricket Central was.

I don't know what happened to Jake Lehmann. When he started out he looked to have a Test career in front of him. He scored three centuries and averaged 44.50 in his first season but since then he has lost his way. His first class average currently stands at 32.64 and he gets to 50 often enough but does not go on with it.
