Several years ago I got stuck into Michael Clarke who was having a lean trot. Pup proceeded to rack up two double centuries in the same series against India. This time around I have given Usman Khwaja a serve and he has made it to 189 not out. On that basis it is probably Selectors 2 and Raptalia nil. :(

If only it would work on Aussie Rules players and I might get a decent game or two out of Jed McEntee.

You always go too far :).

Sri Lanka will be thanking their lucky stars that this isn't a timeless Test - with this pop gun attack, we would have made 1000.

I know SL only went in with one 'quick', but they've only use four bowlers after 109 overs, and Fernando has only bowled 7 of those
After watching Fernando bowl yesterday, I can see why he's only bowled 7 overs: he'd struggle to make one of our Shield teams.

If we bat for 2.5 days waiting for the pitch to wear down, we may post 1000

Surely they just go the tonk now? This is pretty boring. Make another quick 50 and put them in.
Nahhhh, bat them into the ground. Still have another test to play, rip these spinners fingers up. This is a test match, not Mickey Mouse cricket. Other countries pad the stats in these situations and find ways to get a result. This could be Starc and Carey’s best chance of hitting 100’s.

Bat and bat and bat, have them begging for a rest!

I was surprised to read that Josh Inglis is the 21st Australian to score a century on debut for Australia. I would not have thought there were that many. Mind you there are more Tests played these days and it took almost ninety years of Test cricket for nine Australians to reach the total on debut but a mere sixty years for another twelve to achieve the feat.

I guess sooner or later the call will come for Inglis to replace Alex Carey behind the stumps. Once back in Oz the call will be for Head to move back to no5, Konstas to open with Khawaja and Inglis to move to no7 and take over the gloves. Of course despite his double century Usman Khawaja is nearing 39 so eventually Head could open with Konstas, Inglis remain at no 5 and Carey remain keeper. Either way the pressure on Alex Carey from the Aussie media will be immense. Thankfully Alex was among the runs in Galle but he will not want to fail with the bat.

Don't forget that Green is returning from injury - he was the golden boy before he hurt himself, so where does he fit into the equation now?
