The Indians' response to Konstas is completely disproportionate to what he is doing.

You could see it in the last Test with Kohli's shoulder charge and Bumrah's childish response to dismissing Konstas in the second innings. And then losing their shit over him saying Usman wasn't ready to face the delivery.

What is Australia supposed to do, walk on eggshells? Sod it, let's have a bit of spite and fire, the Indians don't like getting a bit of treatment back.

It's why so many people hate them. That said, I'm actually a bit sad that this is the final Test - it's been brilliant, combative cricket, and neither team has taken a backward step.

This has never happened in the history of world sport of course.

Make sure they have the last laugh. Because it's that laugh that matters most.

Sunny day forecast tomorrow, bake the deck, make some runs, put it out of their reach. Weather doesn't seem to be an issue, maybe showers on day 5.

Massive collision of fielders in the BBL match in Perth, looks bad. Daniel Sams KO'ed.

Hope he and Bancroft recover quickly.

This is the image I have in my head of Deano's final result of stirring up Ambrose. After they Windies won the 2 ODI finals games, the Windies kicked on and won the test series.

Ambrose took 20 wickets in the last 2 tests, which Windies won both, they retained the Frank Worrell trophy wining the 5 tests series 2-1-2, stayed ranked #1 test team for another 2 years and a bit, and he took 33 wickets all up in the 5 tests. He won a Nissan Patrol and drove around the WACA with his teammates pilling in and on the vehicle.

He also won Player of the Series of the Benson and Hedges World Series Cup, but shared that with Phil Simmons.

Can't find the video of Curtly's driving effort, but it was a repeat of what Ravi Shastri and Indian team did when they won a one off ODI tournament to celebrate 150 years of Victoria where the MCG hosted nearly all of the 13 games, the SCG got 3 of them.

It was a lop sided, round robin 6 teams, "World Championship" - Oz, NZ, Windies, England, Sri Lanka and India, each team played 3 games, the top 4 teams played in the SFs, Windies and India played off as losing SFs for 3rd and 4th place and India easily beat Pakistan by 8 wickets in the final with Srikkanth smacking 67 in 77 balls. Ravi also made 60 odd not out in 140 odd balls and won player of the series.

He didn't have a driver's licence, but teammates piled into/on the Audi before he got the keys from Ian Chappell, so he took them for a drive and reckons he was the first guy to drive a car around the MCG. I remember it well and it was a big thing in India, as they were the reigning WC holders and would host the next WC in a couple of years time, it was broadcast live into India, and Ravi ended up driving Audi's for a long time and became an Audi ambassador in India for a few decades.

Sams stretchered off. Bancroft walked off, lot of blood from his nose, could be broken.
sounds like shades of Waugh and Gillespie crashing into one another in Sri Lanka, Kandy in 1999 test.

Head on head collision and Sams out cold with his arms stiff as he lay on the ground. Bancroft would have a broken nose.

In 1999 Waughs head/face basically drove thru Gillespie's leg and Waugh was out cold and broken nose and Gillespie was in great pain with a broken leg - below the knee.

If Smith had been in control of the ball, that would have been called a fair catch I think. But he wasn’t in control, it had spilled from his hand and touched the grass as he was flicking it back up in the air for a second bite.

I'm fine for that to be not out.
Spot on. The ball clearly touched the turf. Third ump got it right this time.

Agreed, plus Bumrah's response to that last ball dismissal of Khawaja yesterday was even more childish than what he did after dismissing Konstas in the previous game.

IMO he is now in the same d***head territory as Kohli and Siraj, but so far the Aussies have displayed much cooler heads and hopefully today the batsmen can take advantage of the Indians and their schoolyard crap!

Disagree. Thought Bumrah's response was more than justified. The kid mouthed off to him 2 balls earlier and he exacted absolute retribution. Last ball of the day, the moment, the theartre, shoe on the other foot what do you think the Aussies would have done? Whilst I agree the Indians in general are churlish, there was always going to be a big reaction in that moment.

I like how Konstas triggers them tbh sure he needs to back it up but it's like the work experience kid saying something smart to the old fossils in a workplace and getting up their skirts. Good theatre.
I particularly liked how he mouthed off while fielding close to the bat in Melbourne. The Indian batsmen didn't like it - I reckon Jaiswal aimed a shot at him at one point. If his antics continue to get under the skin of the opposition, then I'm all for it.

Absolute retribution would have been dismissing Konstas which Bumrah didn't do. He carried on like an absolute turnip as if he had, but he dismissed the walking wicket.

All the Indians are chirping at Konstas already this morning, good test for him.

And I doubt he was even sledging. It was just variations of Healy's annoyingly endless 'Bowled Warnie'.

I said it to myself last night and Adam Collins mentioned it in on SEN's New Ball program this morning, that there is a chance he becomes a Nick Kyrgios type character, ie entertaining, mouthy, hip, and showy, but wont deliver on his potential if he isnt prepared to do the boring long term hard grind.

The bloke could still be playing international cricket in 2040 - he has the talent - but he has to be prepared to do the hard stuff long term as well as the showy stuff.
