Prasidh is going to be an easy bowler to face compared to Bumrah and the way Siraj is bowling.

Siraj has gone from at some stages being a very good #2 for Bumrah, to also bowling some absolute garbage when he gets upset, in this series.

Before today's play started he had taken 16 wickets with a strike rate of 48 in this series. Thats a decent return for the number 2 quick. His average waa about 25 before the MCG test, and it was 31 before his two wickets this morning.

Also the dumb scg curator should’ve prepared a road instead of the pitch provided when we only need a draw to win the series. At this rate it could be all over inside 3 days.
The 14 day forecast before the MCG test started, had a lot of rain on day 4 and 5 in Sydney.

Wouldnt be surprised if that affected the curator's thinking, given how many SCG tests have been a draw due to weather and the fact India have made a lot of big scores at the SCG the last 25 years with several scores between 450 and 700, and Oz may have needed to win there to win the series / BGT.

Slug from Snug looking calm and solid. Not sure he's a number 6 but his batting has been uncomplicated.

It definitely justifies the decision to drop Marsh.

Being able to bowl 13 overs in a days play probably justified Beau's selection before he even got to the batting crease.

At a guess I reckon the last time Marsh bowled 13 overs in days play was probably 6 maybe 8 years ago.

Another game where Oz is 4 for bugger all and the last 4 wickets will probably make more runs than ths top 4 have.

It has been a constant theme since 2023 Ashes series in England.

Just had a look at his Shield form and his 2023-24 season was outstanding. Wasn't sure he is a Test #6 but that appears to be his best position in Shield cricket. Certainly earned his call up.

In 2023-24 he had a break-out season topping the Sheffield Shield runscoring chart with 938 runs at 58.62. He also took 30 wickets at 29.30 to help Tasmania reach the Shield final. He became just the second player behind Sir Garfield Sobers, in 1963-64, to score more than 900 runs and take more than 30 wickets in the same Shield season.

Genuinely unbelievable.

This should be a concrete slab.

And there goes Smith just as Tim Lane was banging on about his 10,000 Test runs
Smith himself was unsettled just before he got out, telling people to sit down. It obviously affected his concentration.
