Need to set out the rules clearly in advance.

Still need to figure out if we just ban picking Bradman or find a suitable handicap for it

Players who never played for Australia maybe

I thought we were doing a one dayer one

Sheffield Shield representation surely

Absolutely. My view is

Every player must have played test cricket for Australia.
Captain must have captained Australia at test level
Keeper must have been selected as a specialist keeper for Australia.
At least two players who have played Sheffield shield for each mainland state.
One player from Tasmania - players from before 1977 who were born in Tasmania can be selected as a Tasmanian eg Max Walker.
Pick 12 players

And either ban Bradman or whoever picks Bradman skips the second round of the draft and gets their extra pick at the very end

not just going to be post-77, when tassie were in the shield competition?

anything before the 80s is pretty much guess work based on stats for the likes of me - only really started following cricket in the 88/89 series when the windies toured

1. Rohit Sharma
2. Chris Broad
3. Brian Lara
4. Kevin Pietersen
5. Thilan Samaraweera
6. Chris Cairns
7. Rod Marsh
8. Wasim Akram
9. Paul Strang
10. Vernon Philander
11. Nathan Lyon
12. Najmul Shanto

Scary line up to play at Adelaide Oval in a day night Test match. Lara and Pietersen both have a century and double century at the venue. Chris Broad has an unbelievable record in Australia, including a century in Adelaide. It's a very aggressive batting line up that could be destructive, particularly during daylight hours.

Rod Marsh has two tons at Adelaide Oval and is arguably the best keeper of all time.

Wasim Akram has a five wicket haul and a century in Adelaide. Can you imagine him taking the new ball under lights?!? Vernon Philander has a bowling average of 22 and would swing the pink ball around corners. Nathan Lyon has taken the most Test wickets in Adelaide and only Clarrie Grimmett has a better average of all spinners at the venue. Paul Strang was a very handy leggie and Chris Cairns completes a very well balanced bowling attack.

Very happy with my Pie Floaters

Given that its restricted to only Australians I feel that it would restrict options too much.

I have to agree. I'd know maybe 4-5 players pre 1970s

Most of which I only know by name. Wouldn't know much about them as cricketers.
Victor Trumper

11Trent Boult
12th manAndrew Symonds

I'll launch into a full spiel later but very happy with Roy as my 12th. Perfect 12th man because he's a very good bat, bowls both mediums and spin, and is one of the best fielders the game's seen, whether that be in the ring or outfield.

I know this is controversial but I recon Joe Root could be one of the best modern day cricketers.

Approaching 13K runs at 51, will be #2 in not too long. 197 catches, will be #1 in the next season.
6500 ODI runs at 47.6

Got a real steal to end up with Smith, Root, and Donhi in the same side.

and with that, 52 cans gets it's zim 12th man

Thanks. It was mildly addictive.

It wasn't perfect but certainly a learning experience for next time we do this.
