There wouldn't be a lot between them. ODI & T20I are both stuck behind paywalls, and are now almost universally ignored by the public (even on the rare occasions when CA tries to promote them).

About the only difference would be viewers hanging around for longer with ODIs, but the number of viewers involves is almost vanishingly small these days, so it's almost a moot point.
Paywalls yes but surely there's a huge percentage of people that have Kayo/share logins?

... and very few of them watch the ODIs - because they no longer care, no longer have any relevance, and little in the way of awareness.

... and the percentage of people with Kayo is not as high as you think it is.

Fox put more money into cricket that 7 do, so I gather thats where the money comes from
Test & T20 covered by both Fox & Ch7, but Ch7 didn't think worth paying more for ODI's.

ODI's are the least supported compared to Teats & T20.

Pretty sure that tests in Australia have to be shown on free to air

Can't remember if that's a regulation or just CA preventing a backlash from cricket purists

ODIs too expensive for FTA channels to afford

This is Head's first 50+ score since his 119 against the Windies in Adelaide last January. His scores between those two innings were 0, 0, 1, 29, 21, 18, and 11.

Going back before the 119, you have to go back to Leeds in July 2023, to find another 50+ score. His scores between the 77 he scored there and the 119 were 48, 1, 4, 43, 40, 14, 17, 0, and 10.

Since that 77 in Leeds he's played 18 innings for 1x 100+ and 1x 50+ (today), going at an average of 25.35 (average taken with his current score at 69*). If that's not the definition of inconsistency, then what is?

Don't get me wrong... Head has outperformed the Lampshade in this period!

I think we are at the point that we all accept Head is a player that is on or off and there isn't much in-between

The challenge is if we have the depth to maintain that kind of player.

Hes still unfortunately our best 2 or 3 Bats in the team (i don't mean that negatively either, more Head is best when we have quality like an in form Steve Smith and Lab in the team)

Ben Doggett called into the squad after Hazelwood's injury

Hopefully we can get Lloyd Pope in for Nathen Lyon who's fading, Liam Scott to replace Mitch Marsh who'll get injured soon no doubt and Henry Hunt in for Marnus Labuschagne (allows McSweeney to slide to 3). Then Manenti to come straight in for Smith and to take over as captain immediately plus Barry Nugget Rees appointed assistant coach.

It's a shame Jordan Buckingham is injured. Perhaps McAndrew can replace Starc instead.

1. Khawaja
2. Hunt
3. McSweeney
4. Head
5. Scott
6. Manenti (capt)
7. Carey
8. Cummins (vc)
9. McAndrew
10. Doggett
11. Pope

He has played well in the nets
To be fair he spends the most time in the news along with Smith.

His issue though is his mindset... as it was completely cooked in the 1st test. If he can't fix his head, he will remain as walking wicket.

Smith is the one who should be dropped. He can't play anymore: cooked. Slips catching would be missed, though.
Marnus is in worse form than Smith.

Green will replace Smith

Agree, Marnus is currently cooked .... not to say he won't fight back. Smith is definitely done. Usman in his last summer at 38 years old so we need to consider as many as three batting spots over the the next 12 months.
Will be interesting what team is picked for the Sri Lankan tour.

Something like...

1 Khawaja
2 Konstas
3 McSweeney
4 Green
5 Head
6 Maxwell
7 Carey

Can't disagree with that ... not sure what McSweeey is like against spin ... particularly when the the sub-continent looms.

If England I would say Marsh ....Maxwell has to play in my opinion.

Normally I respect players who wait for the selectors to make the call, even if it means they look embarrassingly bad at the end of their career.

That said, if someone had a whisper in Steve Smith's ear and mentioned he could bow out of Test cricket on his terms. Then I reckon he could probably get his T20 spot back for several years if he applied himself (and probably started bowling again) and make a small fortune "on the circuit" in the meantime.

Labuschagne is just cooked though.

I'm not letting Maxwell anywhere near a red ball tour.

Inglis bats at 6 for mine, he might have a future in the longer format

I would play him in the sub continent.

One of our better players of spin & useful 5th bowler.
