Do you think Marsh is the WOAT of all rounders?
Shaun Young... 4 runs not out & no wickets in his 1 test.

Trevor Chappell... 79 runs @ 16, no wickets in 3 tests.

Simon O'Donnell... 206 runs @ 30, 6 wickets @ 84.

Cummins not attacking at all post-tea with a lead of 420+ really let these 2 settle. Was poor captaincy.
The pitch is a road. The only way anyone gets out is if they get themselves out. The best the fielding team can do is to limit the damage.

There's a little bit of help for the bowlers when the ball is new, but it's a batsman's paradise after the ball is about 30 overs old.

We might have scored 480, but that was still at least 150 below par on this deck.

Agree the pitch is flat but having 2 slips and a ring field with a lead of 420 ain’t going to put too much pressure on the batter either.

Mitch Marsh bowling barely 120km with a ring field now too 🤢

Lol, in no world is 624 par!

Indians won't get anywhere near our 474 total imo.

As I said before, best to judge when both teams have batted.

We can only hope that the pitch will deteriorate over the last few days, or this will be a very long and boring Test.

Unfortunately, history has shown that the drop in pitches don't wear much these days.

Are we watching the same game?

Put that collapse down to Kohli.

Ball watching at the bowler's end...we've all been there, we've all done it but that was a key moment
No way was he going to make it though.

Was a suicidal run as hit straight to Cummins. Should have communicated better with his partner though.

Jaiswal self immolating had nothing to do with the bowling. That's what triggered the collapse this evening.

The pitch isn't as easy as you are claiming & 624 par is bloody ridiculous!

I think what he means is it's a road that doesn't offer much to the bowlers. So a lapse in concentration is the only way a batter gets out.

Personally I don't mind them. To often to get a result we see too many bowler friendly decks.

The pitch really is that easy. It's just that the batsmen no longer remember how to bat properly, having spent too much of their careers playing hit & giggle rubbish.

Australia has only scored over 624 20 times ever in Test Cricket... & not once ever at the MCG!

So expecting the highest ever score on the MCG as part is ridiculous! 624 is the highest ever score at the MCG.

I think given we didn’t make 624 this could be the WOAT Australian team.

obviously it was an off the cuff arbitrary number. We dont see those scores now anyway because once teams pass the 350-400 mark strategy now dictates to score quickly and get to 500-550 as quick as possible if possible. I hate to say it, but I dont think we will ever see a player score a 300. Seems to be the expectation that its get to 150 and if they havent already accelerate.
