Im not going to reign on the konstas parade, the kids a gun. Like a young Ricky Ponting with the attitude of a young Mark Waugh and the skills to match.

Is his mentality though going to see him succeed as a long term option for us as an opener or is he better suited to say a future 3rd or 4th.

Interesting question and I do think 4 will be his spot

I think it's the WOAT Boxing Day pitch
It's much better than the one they had in 2018, which was officially rated as "poor" by the ICC. It was one of the first drop-in pitches at the MCG, and it was diabolical. It was almost impossible for the bowlers to get the batsmen out, but it was also virtually impossible for the batsmen to score. 24 wickets fell in 5 full days of cricket.

The 2024 pitch is a dream compared to that pitch, which was a viewer's (and bowlers') nightmare.

The follow on coming into play pretty quickly here.
We will bat again first regardless.

Still plenty of time in this test & the pitch isn't a complete road despite what Vader thinks.

Interesting question.

Given his talent, he will get to choose where he wants to bat.

Been a while since someone so young & talented has come into the test team... & much needed given the average age of our test team batters.

Australian selectors will need to be braver managing the transition, so we don't habe too many leave at once... including the bowlers too.

Reddy looks like a pretty handy player. Has chipped in a few times in this series. Will end up batting higher you'd think.

Strange pitch. Seems to have OK pace and carry through to the keeper but no edges have carried

India batting down to 8 have really set their team up to save these games & trying to get an ugly draw this series, played lots of defensive cricket since pretty much day 2 in Adelaide, playing much like their coach just trying to dig in and grind away ugly results now.

Do Cummins and Starc realise that they're not only allowed to pitch the ball in the batsman's half of the pitch, but that it is actively encouraged, and that their chances of taking a wicket go up dramatically every time they do so?

Enough of the dumb and stupid short pitch rubbish!
