I would have looked at Labuschange to open against India rather than push McSweeney there .

Absolutely, Labuschagne played like an opener anyway, not looking to score but blunt the new ball instead. McSweeney should have never been used as the sacrificial lamb and I personally thought it was horrible leadership from everyone.

The issue is Lyon & Murphy are both similar.

We need a different type of spinner imo.

Possibly so, and its a good point but I still dont see the point in bringing in a sub par specialist spinner just because.

The gap between the output of Connolly, Head or McSweeney over any replacement spinner would be far outweighed by their superior batting they bring to the table.

I'm not sure I'd want him selected as a bowler alone. I could see him being useful to extend the batting line up and as a third option while Murphy/Lyon do the bulk of the work.

Agree the seamers. Webster becomes the second and I'm thinking Boland instead of Starc. Perhaps as potent but much better able to lock up an end if required.

Honestly not against the idea but I reckon they go Starc for four overs with the new ball
