OK, here's mine:

Steve Waugh's Test career batting average currently stands at 49.45, with 29 Test centuries.

What is his first innings batting average, and how many of those centuries have been scored in the first innings?

top of my head:
higher than 49.25
most

looking it up:
59.79
27

Be clear by what you mean by "first innings". I'm in agreement with red+black.

Code:

overall 156 245 42 10039 200 199 177* 49.45 29 46 21

1st team innings 156 155 23 7893 200 199 177* 59.79 27 36 10

2nd match innings 67 66 7 3302 200 160 157 55.96 11 15 5
3rd match innings 73 60 12 1613 134* 116 90 33.60 2 9 8

Craig Bradley?

Re: first innings, er, good point. The stat I was looking at was first innings of a match, so 62.89 and 16 centuries.

But actually the other stat, 27 of his 29 centuries in our first innings is more interesting.

Cheers!

By my reckoning, there are at least 3 since Craig Bradley (from the cricket side - obviously he is the last from the footy side of things)...
Earl Spalding? Geoff Parker? Jamie Siddons? Nick Jewell? Michael Clark?

Ok - Nick Jewell is the most recent. Craig Bradley played his last 1st class match in 1989/90, so Jamie Siddons is one. Geoff Parker - did he actually play senior footy??? And Simon O'Donnell (being the most obvious one) also played 1st class cricket since Braddles...

Clark played one match for Freo in 1999, Jewell's sole game for Richmond was in 1997. I could've sworn Parker played senior footy but I can't for the life of me remember who for.

Geoff Parker played for Essendon Pretty sure he played senior footy - otherwise I would never have heard of him

Liam Pickering is a gun cricketer - did he play a first class game?

Which Michael Clark is this - the one from NSW who is the next big thing???
No, that's Michael Clarke (I've been deliberately careful with the spelling). I'm talking about the Western Australian fast bowler, son of former Australia Test player Wayne Clark. Another thing he has in common with Jewell - a semi-famous father.

Darren Lehmann 191
Mark Waugh 173
