No cripps is so overated. I understand he looks really good but Bennel, Hogan and Scully looked just as good at times too,

Players like Selwood, Pendlebury, Danger look different from those players from day one. No way will Cripps ever be that good.
Cripps is genuinely one of the best, if not the best, under 25 players in the comp. He's a star and great to watch.

Fair enough, he was a star last year no doubt and was reflected in Melbourne's dominance.

Seems the structures don't help either, Gawn is surrounded by Viney, Jones and Oliver at times. Toughest inside mid group along with Bulldogs, but where's the spread?

You me and every Melbourne fan is wondering the same thing. I'm not sure we can play them all going forward. Our midfield is overrated. Put the ball inbetween Viney, Brayshaw, Oliver, Jones, Harmes etc and their opponent and we beat up most teams. Put the ball 5m away an we are ****ed.

I agree but comparing him to Danger and Fyfe is laughable

Why? His output has been greater than both so far this year and he had a better season than Danger last year too.

Bit of a changing of the guard in terms of the best player in the comp, with Bontempelli also having a massive start to the year.

Nah he was much better last year. His handballs were a thing of art, this year accumulator would be nice he's been downright horrible. Double shoulder recos in the pre season probably doesn't help.

This year it's not even close though. I've always though they are actually extremely similar players but even if they were dead level Cripps size makes him more dangerous.

Seems to have lost some of his creativity by hand that made him so dangerous in 2017/2018.

Hard to tell if that’s partly his teammates running to bad spots to receive, and him subsequently honoring some bad calls for the ball.

Confidence. Every Melbourne player is playing worse this year. That and both shoulder being operated on which is 16 weeks which means no pre season. Its easy to melt about melbournes season but he ran for probably 3 or 4 weeks before the season started. I'd say he's just knackered

Cripps undoubtedly having the better season. Oliver has been good by anyone else’s standards, but we expected better after last year.

Contested Kings.

Still think Oliver was better last year but Cripps undoubtedly has improved a bit this year and Oliver has been good at best.
Oliver is going alright this year for a guy who had 2 shoulder reconstructions and no pre season.

Doesn't have 12 possession games either

Clearly Cripps is the best in the AFL right now.
would have been good for him to have shown that kind of heart and not been anonymous is 2 of Boltons last 3 games.

Oliver had an 11 possy game against pies a couple of years back.
Its ok to have a bad game sometimes... .
yes he did.

It was also his first AFL season and his 5th or 6th game of AFL football

I don't think this thread is going to age well
Disagree. I think it will age exceptionally well. You're comparing two of last year's AA mids, one who is 24 and one who will be 22 in July. Oliver having a good season, but not as good as last year. Reminds me a bit of Cripps in 2017 to be honest, just can't put his best footy together due to injuries (two shoulder reconstructions in the off-season. Cripps has been amazing, the best player in the league in my view. You can't compare them like for like until they're a bit older.

LOL PP34 liking my posts from over a year ago, you pathetic little troll. Glad to see last week's loss still hurts :D :D :D

Nah but seriously, good on you for partying it up on a rare Saturday night when the Blues get a win! What's that now, half a dozen in the last three years?

BOY OH BOY WOWWWEEEE!!!

Nah just bored and decided to make a rare visit to the Polls board.

I have no idea why you think I’m so bothered by the Melbourne loss. Game meant nothing for either team.

Just happened to come across your laughable post.
